my Thyroid Genetic Panel results from Blue Horizon show the following:
COMT - very slow clearance of stress and oestrogen.
DI01 - is normal not increased DI01 activity & conversion of FT4 to T3
also, the T Allele on rs11206244 is associated with lower of rT3 from circulation and lower conversion of T4 to T3. Ensure adequate intake of iodine and selium to support the pathway.
DI02 - suggest taken T4/T3 therapy, calcium and Vitamin D for low mood.
PDE8B - TSH Signalling - The A allele on rs4704397 is linked to reduced thyroid sensitivity to TSH stimulation. This could result in higher TSH levels in order to produce normal levels of thyroid hormones (T4 and T3). A clinical test would show high TSH levels and normal to low thyroid hormones.
i cant attached the results as its a PDF document
can you let me know what I should do next please?
THANK YOU

I'm afraid I really do not know enough to be helpful.
It's possible that a doctor would take on board some of these results - but they might not understand, or even completely dismiss them.
There are reasons that certain genetic issues only have a significant effect under certain circumstances.
As a starter, it might well be worth search round for SNP numbers - there are many sites which provide information. Though far too much assumes an understanding of genetics in the first place.
It is very tempting to make stabs at explaining as far as I think I know but the worst thing I could to is make assumptions and, from ignorance, get things wrong.
thanks for posting this. I didn’t know they did these tests. I don’t know too much about this stuff but I saw a functional gp and she suggested I had genetic tests for thyroid and hormones. She said as I’ve always struggled with hormones or maybe that my body is bad a getting rid of them and that’s why they have a big affect on me, due to the build up. It’s all very interesting. Let us know what you find out!
so you need to show these to a thyroid specialist endocrinologist
Should aid getting T3 prescription alongside levothyroxine
Here’s link for how to request Thyroid U.K.list of private Doctors but also list of recommended thyroid specialist endocrinologists who will prescribe T3
Ideally choose an endocrinologist to see privately initially and who also does NHS consultations
