New blood results.

Hi everyone. Hope you're all doing well.

I had my new thyroid blood results today and vitamins done in April. I was on 125mcg t4 and 25mcg t3 and doing better.

TSH 0.009 range 0.27-4.2

T4 15.8 range 12-22

T3 5.9 range 3.1-6.8

I seem to be doing better when I decrease my T4 as I was in 150mcg on my last blood test in March and was doing terrible.

So based on some informations given by @diogenes @jimh11 and @heloise and @suztango from my last post on pooling t3, I am going to reduce my levo to 100mcg and increase my t3 by 6.25mcg and see how it goes.

My last vitamin blood results from April, my vitamin D has increased from 63nmol to 91 nmol. So I decreased from 4000iu to 2000iu dayly as it's summer.

However, my b12 has barely increased from 39pmol to 42pmol, and my Folate has decreased from 5.7 to 5.1ug.

Could that be because I didn't take the b complex for a week and therefore means that I don't hold on to anything?

I have increased my b complex from 1 pill to 2pills a day and will check my levels in August or September.

Any wise thoughts on any of these?

Many thanks as always.

Recommend just for the week in run up to next blood test, when stop your vitamin B complex, to take some plain folate (eg Solgar ) and plain B12 (eg Jarrow B12)

Would suggest you might hold at current dose of levothyroxine....see how you go and test again in 6-8 weeks

If you reduce levothyroxine further Ft4 will likely drop below bottom of range

Thank you slowdragon for your concerns and for the tip on the b12 and Folate. will definitely do that.

I just want to try reducing my levo as my symptoms seem to improve when I reduce it. I'm definitely doing better than a year ago, but not quite there yet. As you said it's trials and errors, so I need to experiment.

I suggest you just reduce your levo and leave your L-T3 at 25 mcg. I don't think the levo is doing much for you so you may not miss it.

Thank you Jimh111. You don't think I would benefit from increasing my t3 slightly? I seem to convert some t3 naturally but not a lot, so I was thinking that if I reduce my levo, my t3 will decrease too and I would have some room for a small dose increase.

I think you have sufficient T4 to be converted to T3. Reducing your L-T4 a little might allow your TSH to increase just a little and TSH promotes T4 to T3 conversion, especially in organs such as the brain that rely on T4 to T3 conversion.

This is just a guess on my part. I would try reducing your L-T4 and if you find you are doing badly then introduce the extra L-T3. Just try it and see, no guarantee just dropping L-T4 by 25mcg will work!
