Hi all,
So i've been under private thyroid care for just over and year and a half. I was on 75mcg a day from about 18 years old to 42 years old, had bloods checked and all 'in range' but I didn't feel good. Tired a lot and sluggish and constipation, cold sensitiveness.
After changing to private, I've been increased very slowly to 100mcg a day and I felt so much better, more awake and less sluggish. I still feel the cold (hands and feet mainly) and suffer with slight constipation. Bloods have been checked more frequently and also my vitamin levels. The last few weeks, I've noticed that my heart feels more prominent (hard to describe), not beating very fast but also feel anxious in my chest. Dr did mention maybe a decrease in levo to 100mcg over 6 days and 75mcg 1 day a week. I've seen on another site that you shouldn't alternate does? does anyone else have experience in alternating doses?
Labs are below - all done before 9am with no food and leaving 24 hours after taking levo. Also stopped biotin before bloods.
I take vitamin B supplement (some days i miss a dose), take vitamin D 3000 iu daily (spray type). Ferrous sulphate 200mg 4 times a week late afternoon (dr prescribed), omega 3, folate.
Levo in the am then leave 1 hour before food.
Last Vitamin d was 82.9nmol
Added my thyroid and iron results. I've read a lot of info on here about Iron (hard for me to take it all in) and i've tried lots of foods to increase it but I can't - tried heme iron also and I take this but i've been given the ferrous by the Dr to take.
TSH (0.35-5.5ml) 0.12 before was 0.20 and 0.37 it's been under 1 for a year
T4 (10.5-21 pmol) 19.9 before was 18.6 and 21.9
T3 (3.5-6.5pmol) 4.5 before was 4.6 and 5.1
Iron
% saturation (16-50%) 14, before was 28 and 19 ( the 14 could be as I had awful flu and didn't take the tablets regular)
CRP <4
Ferritin (10-291 ugl) 35.2, before was 18.9 and 30
Serum iron (9-30.4 umol) 9.3, before was 17.5 and 13.1
Transferrin (2.5-3.8 g/l) 2.91, before was 2.79 and 3.04 (these look ok for the range)
I think i'm right that the ferritin is the iron store?
any advice welcome - thank you for reading.
