I have just received the results of my advanced thyroid blood test. My last test was in January and my results were:

TSH .005 (.27 - 4.2)

T4 17.5 (12 - 22)

T3 5.4 (3.1 - 6.8)

I take 2.75 grains of NDT

Today's results are:

TSH .005

T4 25.1 (12 - 22)

T3 15.8 (3.1 -6.8)

I don't understand why the results have shot up as I haven't changed my dosage and I don't feel any different. The only thing that has changed since January is that I take a very low dose blood pressure tablet (a paediatric dose according to the cardiac nurse).

My vitamin D 121

B12 150 (37.5 - 180)

Folate 44.7 (7 - 46.1)

Ferritin 147 (30 - 332)

Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies 44.6 (0 - 34)

If it was a Hashi flare, wouldn't I notice a change in symptoms?

Is it a different batch of ndt? I find Thyroid S batches differ quite a lot.

That's it! I started a new batch of Thyroid S about a week ago. I will reduce down to 2 grains and see how it goes. Thank you for that suggestion.

It's so annoying, I have to test every time I start a new batch. Hope you get sorted. Not good to have t3 that high. 😊

I've been on Thyroid S for years but never come across this problem before. At least they will last longer and save me some money! I'll do a Monitor My Health test in 6 weeks to see if the reduction has worked.

were both tests early morning

Do you normally split your dose

Day before test split as 2 or 3 smaller doses with last dose 8-12 hours before test

Yes, both tests at 8.30 am. I have been taking NDT for 20 years and have never split the dose. I always take it 24 hours after the last dose.

HI Dotty. Can you post the batch number please. I'm ordering soon and it will help to know , Thankyou.

The batch number is 23T01007. I presume the 23 refers to the year it was produced.

I usually order direct but this time I ordered from a website I have used in the past. Never had a problem with them.
