Not changed diet, don't eat processed, eat fish, chicken, if I eat red homemade burgers lean mince, or home made lasagne, I do like bread, usually but have long periods of struggling to eat enough , just no interest in food mostly, you know when you think ooh I need to eat something, not really hungry, but feel nauseous at the thought of it. I know I should eat better but don't know how I have got to this state. I was upset initially when they first started to push metformin on me when HbA1c was mid 40's . Then went to 50 , so when it went up to 54 after starting T3 panicked a bit but thought hang on lipids are improving maybe higher T3 releases more glucose into system. Tried to be more careful with diet.
So first BH test I had was end of October 22 at TSH 0.51, (0.27 - 4.20) FT4 22.1 (12 - 22) FT3 3.88 (3.1 - 6.8)
January 23 GP tests HbA1c 50, Chol 5.6, July 23 did ful Thyroid Gold BH after approx 8 weeks on self sourced T3, titrating up, as advised started on 1/4 of 25mcg tab , then added another 1/4 TSH 0.01, FT4 22.5, FT3 5.51, HbA1c now 54 but chol down to 4.49.
So my T3 goes up so does HbA1c but Chol goes down, ? Will I ever be able to have a good level of FT3 and chol but not have a high HbA1c.
The more T3 I added the better I felt, not perfect but better. I was wondering if to increase my T3 a little more should I reduced T4 a little , ? Have not felt great at T4 dose she has wanted , and think the results of most recent blood tests show why?
Confused what to do next, Oh wise ones Please help

Oh no, so they haven't treated my lack of a thyroid adequately , which led to cholesterol increasing, treated me with anti depressants when most of my issues were probably down to inadequate replacement, the anti depressants caused impaired glucose regulation , HbA1c rises they wanted to start diabetes meds, instead of sorting thyroid, wanted to start statins despite damage they would do, instead of sorting thyroid, wanted to start on hypertensives instead of sorting thyroid , I want to scream.
I know what you mean; I’ve recently had a phone call pushing statins and Ace inhibitors which I know will cause side effects…but Polo I think you need to treat that high blood sugar even if it’s trialling medication for it, as it can damage your body. Take care. X
I would love to know the actual why this happens with T3 and if it’s even important. Is it a temporary thing until T3 settles down? I have a theory that the sugar/glucose normally bound up in hypothyroid sufferers mucin is released into the bloodstream and shows up at testing but is most likely to be temporary requiring no treatment. Is it actually Type 2 diabetes or not? Anyone got experience of their sugar levels going down after T3 settles? Mine went up starting T3 and then down after stopping T3 when I could not ‘happily’ use T3.
This is what I was hoping to find out, if it will eventually right itself when thyroid issues are treated optimally. I think/hope it might but would be good if others have any experience references that could back up my intuition. I was px venlafaxine early 2019, had never had any blood glucose issues before that. Lipids 4.7. If anything often felt hypo(sugar/low BP). Late 2019 noted in med records Impaired glucose regulation, never mentioned at the time but a noted side effect of venlafaxine. Of course being hypo and inadequately treated doesn't help. Late 2020 HbA1c 49, late 2021 still 49 but lipids now 5.5. So January 23 lipids now 5.6, HbA1c 50, started T3 9 months ago. T3 pre Lio was 3.1. After 8 weeks on T3 my HbA1c went up to 54 but lipids went down to 4.49, T3 now 5.51. Later HbA1c still 54, T3 went down to 4.55 lipids upto 5.14.
November GP reduced T4 this was only change , based on TSH 0.01 T4 21.6 no T3, HbA1c 54, lipids 5.14.
GP results 5th Feb TSH 0.01 T4 17. no other tests.
BH 5th Feb TSH 0.01, T4 17.2, T3 6.1, HbA1c 60, lipids 4.73.
So reducing my T4 px which caused my FT4 to drop from 21.6 in November to FT 4 17. 2 in Feb, and increased my HbA1c from 54 in November to 60 in Feb, lipids 4.73.
