So been a while and just want the lasts posts forgot about and just treat this as now and what to do next. So I’ve been taking 100mcg Levo for two months and got my bloods done only available slot was around 11am so it is what it is. I hadn’t been taking supplements in this period to see how my levels of them would be affected too. It was a test.
My results:
TSH: 4.1 (0.3-4.4)
T4 15.1(11-22)
T3 wasn’t tested but is usually in a good range for thyroid.
Vitamin D 24nmol/L (50-300)
Folate 0.8mg/dl (4-22)
Vitamin B12 311nmol/L (150-800)
IRON panel
Iron 13.4 umol/L (10-30)
TIBC 81umol/L (35-81)
UIBC 68umol/L ( 13-45)
Transferritin saturation 17% (25-45%)
Ferritin 80ug/l (40-300)
see a few of these point to anemia if red blood cells are normal apart from width which has always been abnormal mum is same.
So where to go from here, obviously I had the issue when I went 125mcg I went hyperthyroid but I don’t think that was the reason because my levels shot down to 0.01 TSH. So I still think I need a dose increase to get between 1-2 and as we can tell my vitamin levels are just dreadful, like my low folate must be causing me a lot of my symptoms rn.
anyways appreciate any help

With serum B12 result below 500, (Or active B12 below 70) recommended to be taking a separate B12 supplement
A week later add a separate vitamin B Complex
Then once your serum B12 is over 500 (or Active B12 level has reached 70), you may be able to reduce then stop the B12 and just carry on with the B Complex.
If Vegetarian or vegan likely to need ongoing separate B12 few times a week
IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results
In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate folate supplement (eg Jarrow methyl folate 400mcg) and continue separate B12 until over 500

Thank you for the advice I currently take this b-complex. Is this good I know it says folic acid ( but as methylfolate) and decent pricing good ratings on Amazon
Igennus B complex popular option. Nice small tablets. Most people only find they need one per day. But a few people find it’s not high enough dose
How long before test did you stop taking it

You need a separate B12 as well as a vitamin B complex. once your serum B12 is over 500 (or Active B12 level has reached 70), you may be able to reduce then stop the B12 and just carry on with the B Complex.
hey I know I’m replying late. I’ve been taking the folic acid from doctors but honestly just want to be on methylfolate can I buy a separate supplement for that I found a couple at 1000ug do I need more?
Like the way I’m seeing it so I’m nearly done with loading dose vitamin D.
you should/could have started separate B12 BEFORE starting folic acid
Never mind …..start B12 now
You won’t need a separate methyl folate as well as vitamin B complex
Once you finish prescription folic acid, start a good quality vitamin B complex
once your serum B12 is over 500 (or Active B12 level has reached 70), you may be able to reduce then stop the B12 and just carry on with the B Complex.
Thorne Basic B recommended vitamin B complex that contains folate, but they are large capsules. (You can tip powder out if can’t swallow capsule) Thorne currently difficult to find at reasonable price, should be around £20-£25. iherb.com often have in stock. Or try ebay
