Last tests were July 2023. Over the last 4 months I’ve dropped 12 Kg purposely, combination of a good diet and gym. And dosage has been slowly reduced from T4 156.25mcg T3 25mcg to my current dose: T4 131.25 mcg & T3 6.25 mcg, symptoms based reduction.

RESULTS : 22 December 2023

TSH: 0.005 mU/l (0.35 - 5.5) -6.70%

FT4: 20.8 pmol/l (11.9 - 21.6) 91.75%

FT3: 5.18 pmol/l (3.1 - 6.8) 56.22%

Anti-Tg 25.9 iu_ml (Range to 115)

Anti-TPO 137 ku_l (Range to 34)

Folic acid 8.3 ug_l (3.8-26.8)

Ferritin 55.28 ug_l (9.999-120)

Vitamin B12 255 ng_l (197-771)

Vitamin D 120 nmol-l (50-375)

Symptoms - palpitations, low blood pressure, exhaustion, difficult concentration. Symptoms have been a little more pronounced in the last fortnight.

Advice please.

Hi there, your ft4 is near the top of the range and could be causing your palpitations. You could maybe drop your levo dose slightly and see how you feel. Also, your vitamins look like they could do with a boost

Your vitamin B12 level is extremely poor and folate too low

What vitamin supplements are you taking

Ferritin could be better too

Vitamin levels likely dropped due to low Ft3

You probably need a higher dose T3

Try increasing to 2 x 1/4 tablet (12.5mcg per day)

I will start B12 self injections today. Normally on Vit D, Zinc, magnesium, Iron & folate, but last 6 months it’s been very erratic, once or twice a week or as and when! Plan to add the 1/4 tab T3 now. Full vitamin regime commencing now too ! All the best SlowDragon.

I'd get tested for pernicious anaemia. You can post on the PAS forum for help and advice along with your test results.

I’ve always suspected PA, but never tested homocysteine and methymalonic acid. But both low folate & B12 , I think confirms this. Mixteca, thank you, reminder on for next tests.

You are welcome. Don't leave it too long, best nipped in the bud if possible - long before any nasty neurological symptoms appear. Prevention is preferable to cure, it is hell for many of us! If I'd known 6 odd years ago what I know now...
