Hi, I have recently been diagnosed with non cancerous multinodular goitre that is pressing my windpipe and waiting to see the ENT specialist. Could someone help me understand the following from my Advanced Thyroid Function Blood Test ? I understand my vitamin D level is low and currently taking supplements
CRP HS - 1.3 mg/l
FERRITIN - 60 ug/L
FOLATE SERUM - 8.8 ug/L
VITAMIN B12 ACTIVE - 117 pmol/L
VITAMIN D - 48 nmol/L
TSH - 1.06 mlU/L
FREE T3 - 4.9 pmol/L
FREE THYROXINE - 13.5 pmol/l
THYROGLOBULIN ANTIBODIES - 15.6 IU/mL
THYROID PEROXIDASE ANTIBODIES - < 9 IU/mL
Due to the compression, I sometimes feel uncomfortable when sleeping and breathless when performing some tasks
I am wondering what could have caused my thyroid enlargement and what is the way forward ?
Many thanks

Sometimes if the thyroid is struggling it can swell because it has to work harder, but you’d expect to see high TSH with this. The TSH isn’t reliable it should reflect low thyroid levels but sometimes it doesn’t or these might be normal levels for you.
