Was Medichecks test on Oct 30th also done early morning and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription

Ft3 is obviously low

Likely to benefit from addition of T3 prescribed alongside levothyroxine

List of thyroid specialists and endocrinologists who will prescribe T3

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Folate rather low

What vitamin supplements are you taking

Thanks for your reply.

I forgot to add to my symptoms my croaky voice, which comes and goes.

Test was done at 9am. I always book the first appointments and I am on the same Accord brand of Levo.

I am taking Levo at night which gives plenty time after last supplements.

As my pee is now fluorescent yellow after drinking plenty fluids,, I will be retesting and will look into the list from Thyroid UK in 6 weeks after taking these supplements,

Started on these on 1.11.23

BComplex

Vit C Liposomal

Vit D+K2

Magnesium Citrate

Liver Capsules

Curcumin

COQ10 Ubiquinol

Omega3

Caprylic Acid

Reservatol

The above list are supposed to be long-term, I have other short term 1 bottle then stop supplements to take too.

I have liver every week and fish twice a week and buy grass fed meat from Pipers farm. (Highly recommend)

I am taking Levo at night which gives plenty time after last supplements.

So Ft4 result is false high unless you too Levo 24 hours before test

As you normally take levothyroxine at bedtime/in night ...adjust timings as follows prior to blood test

If testing Monday morning, delay Saturday evening dose levothyroxine until Sunday morning. Delay Sunday evening dose levothyroxine until after blood test on Monday morning. Take Monday evening dose levothyroxine as per normal

As my pee is now fluorescent yellow after drinking plenty fluids,,

Vitamin B complex always turns urine bright yellow

IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results

endo.confex.com/endo/2016en...

endocrinenews.endocrine.org...

In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate folate supplement (eg Jarrow methyl folate 400mcg)

Post discussing how biotin can affect test results

Never supplement iron without doing full iron panel test for anaemia first and retest 3-4 times a year if self supplementing.

It’s possible to have low ferritin but high iron or vice versa

Ferritin can be high due to inflammation, and iron can be low

Ferritin is now at good level. You need to check iron not getting too high

Test early morning, only water to drink between waking and test. Avoid high iron rich dinner night before test

Stop liver supplements 5-7 days before test

Medichecks iron panel test

medichecks.com/products/iro...

Not taking selenium or zinc?

philipkingsley.co.uk/hair-g....

You can test both these before starting supplements

Thanks again for your advice

I left 24 hous for Levo and I know to stop Biotin week before, but I wasn't on any supplements for 8 weeks before test.

I will do an iron panel when I do my next test.

So you have very poor conversion rate of Ft4 to FT3

Getting T3 prescribed alongside Levothyroxine likely to help hair loss as well as fatigue
