zinc and magnesium dosage

hello! I have hashimotos after having postpartum thyroiditis with my three children. I take vit d, and iron and folic acid as my nhs blood tests showed I was deficient. My b12 was fine. I also take Selenium.

I believe I should be taking magnesium and zinc too but wasn’t sure at what dosage and if anyone had any recommendations on brands?

Thanks a million!

Magnesium you take the dose on the pack, it's usually around 350-450mg. It's not easy to recommend brands, you first of all need to decide which form of magnesium you need. There are many types of magnesium so we have to check to see which one is most suitable for our own needs:

naturalnews.com/046401_magn...

The following link is included purely to describe the different forms of magnesium, ignore the fact that it mentions calcium is necessary, calcium is only necessary if you test and found to be deficient and then your GP should address that

explore.globalhealing.com/t...

and ignore the fact that this is a supplement company, the information is relevant:

Magnesium should be taken 4 hours away from thyroid meds and as it tends to be calming it's best taken in the evening.

As magnesium is an important cofactor of D3, did you know that there is also another important cofactor - Vit K2-MK7? Are you taking that?

As for zinc, this should be balanced with copper. We Hypos tend to have one high and the other low so rather than guess you may need zinc it's best to test first to see if you actually need it.

I just wanted to check that your selenium is not above 100ug if taken daily. 200ug is only recommended if deficient or on active thyroid eye disease (TED). Brazil nuts can contain 50-90ug dependent on soil type, so don’t supplement and eat these. Dosage of 400ug and above has caused toxicity so card is needed not to over supplement.

thanks so much for your message. I take 200 every other day. Do you think that’s ok? Thanks again!

I personally don’t go above 100ug per day as a supplement unless I have a TED flare. I think I’d cut your tablet in half.
