We need to stop taking B Complex (or Biotin) for 3-7 days before any blood test as it can give false results when biotin is used in the testing procedure. We don't know if the results of vitamin tests are affected by this, hence the caution to stop before any blood test.
Assuming that your results are accurate, your ferritin could be a bit better, it's recommended that ferritin is half way through range, and some experts say the optimal ferritin level for thyroid function is 90-110ug/L. Eating iron rich foods regularly may help raise your ferritin level (eg liver, liver pate, black pudding, etc). You shouldn't take iron tablets unless an iron panel has been carried out because if your serum iron and transferrin saturation are good, then supplementing with iron will very likely take them too high. Vit D is pretty good, the Vit D Society and Grassroots Health both recommend a level between 100-150nmol/L with Grassroots Health's recent blog post recommending at least 125nmol/L.
Thank you for that. I’ve been a pescatarian for 40 years, so doesn’t surprise me it’s a bit low. I’ll try to eat more spinach and dried apricots though x
