T3 looks low in range. 8 months ago you were taking 100mcg T4 - why the reduction ?

Lots of good advice on your post eight months ago re supplements - they may improve conversion of T4 to T3 ....

It was my decision to reduce the dosage as I get very agitated and overheated if I increase it. Supplements don’t appear to agree with my stomach.

Was test done as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Do you always get same brand of levothyroxine at each prescription, which brand

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking?

Clearly you are under medicated

Likely low vitamin levels as direct result

Get dose increase in levothyroxine back to 100mcg and FULL thyroid and vitamins tested 6-8 weeks later

Yes blood taken as you recommend. I always have the same brand. I don’t appear to be able to take any supplements without my stomach causing issues as in bloating, and it feeling like a washing machine on the go. Can’t tolerate Vitamin D but that’s probably what I am short of. These results are from March so could get tested again. When I take 100 mcg I get very agitated and overheated. Thanks for replying.

Get the list from Thyroid U.K.

Private consultation is £250

Private prescription enables access to Thybon Henning 20mcg T3 tablets at £1 per tablet

Typical dose is 2 x 5mcg or 3 x 5mcg per day

Obviously vitamins need to be optimal too

Roughly where in the U.K. are you

Many private endocrinologist doing consultations on zoom....so distance no object

But you would need to get full thyroid and vitamins tested first

Trying 100mcg and 75mcg levothyroxine on alternate days is something to consider

Retest full thyroid and vitamins 6 - 8 weeks after any dose change or brand change in levothyroxine

Have you tried "clean" supplements, i.e. those with no excipients/fillers at all? It could be the added extras rather than the active ingredient that's causing problems.

I did think that but it’s hard to find anything to fit the bill. Although I have found some vitamin D that my Granddaughter takes so will have a go with those. Thanks

Healthleads do excipient free supplements.

My D3 is Doctor's Best and has only D3 and extra virgin olive oil.

My magnesium citrate is a powder with nothing else added - Natural Calm Original.

My magnesium taurate doesn't list any excipients - Tom Oliver.

My Vit C is acerola cherry powder by Time Health, nothing added.

Just Goggle "additive free Vit xxxx" and you should come up with something. Or ask on the forum.

Ft3 is only 22% through range

The aim of levothyroxine is to increase dose upwards in 25mcg steps until TSH is ALWAYS under 2

When adequately treated, TSH will often be well below one.

Most important results are ALWAYS Ft3 followed by Ft4. When adequately treated Ft4 is usually in top third of range and Ft3 at least 60% through range (regardless of how low TSH is)

Extremely important to have optimal vitamin levels too as this helps reduce symptoms and improve how levothyroxine works

Common for conversion to get worse after menopause

The last time I saw an endocrinologist he wasn’t remotely interested. I don’t think I fit into any of his ideals. It was a waste of money.I am 66 years so well past the menopause.

I will check out the links you sent and thanks again.

I would also suggest you get an internal ultrasound. I had similar symptoms to you and found I had a 5.5cm X 5cm complex cyst on my ovary. Cysts are very common and it does cause some of the symptoms you've listed. Might be a good idea to get the ultrasound just to rule it out.

The pain isn’t always there. I would probably have to wait weeks in not months in present situation. Thanks for the reply.
