Internal vibration

Hi, I've been quiet on here as mostly plodding on and getting through my days as best as possible but am popping back with a question in the hope that someone can share some insight.

For reference I'm 51, was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2010 (and have a lot of associated issues with that) additionally I have hypertension (mild) pernicious anaemia, cervical spondylosis and in 2019 was diagnosed with Empty Sella Syndrome.

I felt, and a lot of you did also that I might have central hypothyroid but (as expected) my endocrinologist disagreed, although she did do a short synacthen test in Sept 2019.

My current issue is that for the last 4 weeks I have felt a continuous internal vibration or something, it's really hard to put into words, but it's like my insides are buzzing or pulsing electricity or something. There is no visible shake or tremor it's just this odd feeling.

As I was due some review endo bloods I spoke to my GP who added in some extras and I'm hoping to be able to speak to her on Friday, although I'm not sure what she will say as she's merely noted these as all acceptable in my notes at present.

These are the results I have, although I also had U&Es, TFT (TSH, T4) FSH and prolactin done but haven't seen those results yet.

Ferritin is terrible

Are you vegetarian or vegan?

SeasideSusie may comment on other results

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins

List of private testing options

thyroiduk.org/getting-a-dia...

Medichecks Thyroid plus antibodies and vitamins

medichecks.com/products/adv...

Thriva Thyroid plus antibodies and vitamins By DIY fingerpick test

thriva.co/tests/thyroid-test

Thriva also offer just vitamin testing

Blue Horizon Thyroid Premium Gold includes antibodies, cortisol and vitamins by DIY fingerprick test

If you can get GP to test vitamins and antibodies then cheapest option for just TSH, FT4 and FT3

£29 (via NHS private service ) and 10% off down to £26.10 if go on thyroid uk for code

Thanks SlowDragon

I'm not vegetarian and do eat meat probably 4 or 5 days out of the week but I've always had low iron stores and often have to supplement.

I have been very low with my Vit D in the past so I supplement that with Magnesium and a multi-vitamin.

I've used Medichecks once for my bloods in the past and will probably have to use them again to get a full range.

I'm wondering whether I should be asking my GP to ask the endo to see me sooner, as I'm not due there until around about next Oct.

Thanks again 🙂

Suggest you get full thyroid and vitamin testing done, see what’s going on

Hi I had this problem earlier in my menopause it's like a mobile phone on vibration mode? I wondered what was going on so I did deep breathing to see if this helped and it did , you need to breath in through your nose and fill your lungs as much as you can.with air , hold it for as long as you comfortably can then slowly breath out through your mouth and repeat , at the time I did a bit of research online and one American lady went round US hospitals for 3 years to get an.answer eventually a doctor said it was from low estrogen.

I see you have fibromyalgia - when I researched fibromyalgia s relationship with estrogen I thought it may be due to estrogen dominance as so many conditions are but it turns out fibromyalgia is linked to low estrogen

I don't know how estrogen affects your other health issues but it seems you may benefit from some estrogen I would only choose a natural compound like wild yam - go easy have a low dose estrogen is a tricky thing to get right we need it but not too much

Thanks Lizzo,

That's really interesting. I wasn't aware of the oestrogen issue with fibro - after a while I stopped reading a lot of articles about it as everything seemed to link to new symptoms and then I'd imagine I had them all!! Now I only try and research after I've started to experience something such as now.

I'll try the deep breathing, it's a familiar breath pattern to me from meditation/reiki which I do need to be picking up again anyway 🙂

Thanks again

I had that for a couple of years, and it went away when I started taking T3. You'd need to know your all thyroid levels before doing that though.

The internal vibrations were horrible. I hope you can find the cause and the solution.

hi there . i see your post was almost a year ago .for a couple of months now ive been having the internal vibrations you talk about . i put it down to anxiety but after reading your post i wandered if you ever got to the bottom of it . it’s driving me mad . ive even had british gas out several times as i thought it was the central heating vibrations … i’m not normally an anxious person so i’m left thinking could it be my thyroid? . i’d love to hear how you are one year later .

Not what you're looking for?
