HELP INTERPRETING MY BLOOD TEST RESULTS

Hello everyone, I hope you’re all having a good day. I have Graves’ Disease and mild TED. These tests were done about a month ago and I’ll be doing updated tests next week. I’ve been taking Carbimazole for almost two months now. I was on Propranolol for the first month as well. Any advice would be appreciated on these tests results:

THYROID FUNCTION TEST RESULTS

- Free T3: 7.07 pmol/L (normal 3.6 - 6.0 pmol/L)

- Free T4: 12.8 pmol/L (normal 7.2 - 16.4 pmol/L)

- TSH: 0 (normal 0.380 - 5.330 mIU/L)

NB: My TSH was 0.05 before I started treatment, not sure why it’s gotten worse. T3 and T4 are a marked improvement on what they were before I stated treatment.

- Thyroid Stimulating Immunoglobulin (TSI): 12.9 IU/L (normal < 0.10 IU/L)

- TSH Receptor Antibodies: 42.99 U/L

Normal borderline: 9 - 14 U/L

Positive: > 14 U/L

Negative: < 9 U/L

VITAMINS AND MINERAL TEST RESULTS

- Zinc serum: 165.98 ug/dL (normal range 70 -150ug/dL

I’m not supplementing so not sure why this is high.

- Serum Calcium (corrected Calcium): 2.52 mmol/L (normal range 2.10 - 2.60 mmol/L)

- Serum Folate: 14.5 ng/mL (normal 3.1 - 20.5 ng/mL)

- Serum Magnesium: 0.87 mmol/L (normal 0.70 - 1.15 mmol/L)

- Serum Selenium: 58.16 ug/L (normal 23 - 190 ug/L)

- Vitamin B12: 1621 pg/mL (normal 400 - 883 pg/mL)

NB: I’m not supplementing B12 so not sure why this is so high. On the other hand, I’ve been eating lots of leafy greens and organ meats.

- Vitamin D 25-OH (was told that this was D3): 29.6 nmol/L

Low: 7.5 - 47.4 nmol/L

Optimal: 49.9 - 124.8 nmol/L

NB: Could I get my levels with the optimal range just by spending more time outdoors?

HAEMATOLOGY TEST RESULTS

- Full Blood Count: MCH - 26.2 pg (normal 27 - 32 pg)

All other aspects of my full blood count test came back normal, except MCH.

I noticed nobody has replied to your post yet. The TSH always lags behind and can take a long time to rise. Mine was suppressed for about a year even thought my T4 and T3 were in range after treatment with PTU. Just to add your levels are going in the right direction because your T4 is in range. I have always had low vitamin D and when I was first diagnosed mine was 7 and the GP gave me a prescription to bring it up. Even now mine is 64 even though I have been using the BetterYou Vitamin D spray for about a year.

Thank you so much for this Lora7again. I will bear in mind what you said about TSH lagging behind and so I wouldn’t worry about it too much :)

It seems that the spray is working well for you. I’ll check it out. I didn’t realise I could get Vitamin D that way and thought that besides sunlight and fish oil, my only option was a Vitamin D oral supplement.
