Hi does anyone have any advice on the following results please?? They seem to be normal but I know the GP’s ranges are not ideal. The low iron has been picked up on. Thanks.

Serum free T4 level 15 (11-22)

As you have endometriosis then autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) is more common

As well as TPO antibodies you need TG thyroid antibodies tested. NHS refuses to test TG antibodies if TPO are negative

You also need FT3 tested as well as FT4 and TSH

Again extremely rare for NHS to test FT3

Your ferritin is very low.

Are you now on any iron supplements?

Ferrous fumerate?

2 or 3 per day ?

Supplementing vitamin C alongside each iron tablet can help improve iron absorption

Eating liver or liver pate once a week should help too

Vitamin D is good. Do you supplement?

B12 and folate on the low side. Supplementing a good quality daily vitamin B complex, one with folate in not folic acid may be beneficial.

B vitamins best taken in the morning after breakfast

Recommended brands on here are Igennus Super B complex. (Often only need one tablet per day, not two). Or Jarrow B-right

If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results

Suggest you improve vitamins and then do FULL Thyroid testing privately

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also extremely important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if Thyroid antibodies are raised

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

Is this how you do your tests?

Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies or all vitamins

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have special offers, Medichecks usually have offers on Thursdays, Blue Horizon its more random
