Hi everyone

Posted my Blue horizon bloods a week ago and they were showing a number of problems.

I now have a set of NHS ones which seem very different. They were taken the day after the Blue horizon ones and both were fasting.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Here goes...

Serum free T4 level 15.8pmol/ (10.00 - 19.8 )

Serum TSH level 0.1 mu/L (0.3 - 5.5 )

Serum free Triiodothyronine level 5.5 pmol / L (3.5 - 6.7 )

Serum Ferritin level 193ug/L (12.0 - 300.0)

Vitamin B12 level 288 ng/L (190.0 - 800.0)

Serum Foliate 8.8 ug/L (3.0 - 17.0)

Vitamin D Serum total 25 - hydroxy vitamin D level 30 nmol / L ( 24.0 - 167.0)

Not sure what to make of them

Am seeing my doctor on Friday and feel far from well, but she will say they are normal!

Thanks everyone

Big hugs

Sophie ☺ x

Free T3 = 5.50 (3.1 - 6.8 pmol/L)

TSH = L <0.005 (0.27 - 4.20 IU/L)

T4 Total = 132.1 (64.5 - 142.0 nmol/L)

Immunology

Anti-Thyroidperoxidase abs = H 87.6 (<34 kIU/L)

Anti-Thyroglobulin Abs = H >4000.000 (<115 kU/L)

Vitamins

Vitamin B12 = L 227 (Deficient <140 pmol/L, Insufficient 140 - 250, Consider reducing dose >725)

Serum Folate = 13.14 (10.4 - 42.4 nmol/L)

Right. :) Not actually as different as all that - the ranges are slightly different.

Hi jazzw

Thanks for your reply.

So do the previous comments about high ferritin and low B12 still stand?

As I understand from the Blue horizon results my ferritin was high and possibly needed investigating and B12 very low and needing supplementation.

My surgery said my results were normal appart from Vit D.

I am seeing my doctor on Friday and not sure what to say, I still feel rubbish and I know she will say the tests are normal.

Any help would be great, I am finding all this very difficult to understand.

Hugs

Sophie ☺ xx

Yes, the previous comments about high ferritin and low B12 still stand. I would suggest your high ferritin is due to inflammation though - and given your high antibodies, I'd say look no further than a Hashi's flare. Yes, your ferritin is high but not terrible. It'll probably settle in due course.

Your B12 is "normal" I.e. Within range .But you need it up around the top of the range of ,which ever range used, when hypo so supplement with methyl cobalamin plus B complex.

Hi Sophie,

Could you list all the meds and their dosages that you are currently taking.
