Starting afresh - advice on bloods please

Hi all. Need some advice again if you don’t mind. After the T3 debacle with it being withdrawn/reinstated at a lesser dosage I would just like to start afresh and get back to feeling healthy.

Endo has reinstated my T3 at a dosage of 20. T4 is 100. I was struggling with that so have been taking 40 on alternate days which is a bit better but I am struggling with tiredness.

Could you guys take a look at my blood results please and help me to optimise them with advising on the correct doses I should take? I have added last 3 blood tests and the dosages taken at the time. I currently take the thyroid meds plus B12 methyl cobalamin. Can see my results for B12 are high. At the time of the tests I hadn’t taken any meds for +24 hours and all were taken in the morning. I have my prescribed T3 dosage and supplement that with privately sourced.

As always really appreciate the help.

No-one can tell you how much you should be taking, it's a very individual thing. But, I can tell you that you should not be taking 20 mcg T3 one day and 40 the next. You just cannot dose T3 that way. It's very unsettling for the system. You need a steady, regular dose of T3 for you body to recover. Why can't you take 30 mcg a day?

Even so, your FT3 looks lower than it should be. Maybe because you left too long between your last dose and the blood draw - it should be maximum 12 hours for T3. 24 hours for levo. But, even so… How do you take your T3? Do you take it on an empty stomach, leaving at least one hour before eating or drinking anything else by water, and at least two hours before taking any other supplements or medication?

Thanks Greygoose. Explains a lot re results and time of taking last dose. I take T3 and T4 in the am and no food or drink till an hour later. I leave 2 hours between B12 and and the Thyroid meds. Afternoon T3 is also without food. I have never done the alternative days before but didn’t feel that the 20 dose was enough and didn’t have enough tablets to up the daily dose. The tablets were crumbling when I tried to half them as well.

You can cut T3 easily with sharp craft knife/scalpel, like this one

Easy to cut into half or quarters

craftydevilspapercraft.co.u...?

You must always take exactly same dose of T3 every day

Also last dose of T3 must be exactly 12 hours before blood test

Your folate level is very low. You might benefit from replacing some of B12 with daily good quality vitamin B complex, one with folate in not folic acid

Will buy one and do that thank you. I’ll also look into a B12 complex. I had been using cyanocobalamin previously and was always low B12. After advice here I now take 1000mcg rapi-melt tablet. Seems to be doing too good a job!
