Your T3 is very low still, it has only crept up by 0.4 in the six months of 125mcg levo. The T4 also is still rather low, the June result is still only 18.0, some way to go before it is high enough. It is no wonder that you have brain fog, and that will be just one symptom. It looks like you need another increase in medication as it is not enough just to be in range, you have to be at an optimal level for correct functioning.
You can get Dr Anthony Toft's booklet "Understanding thyroid disorders", £5 Amazon/chemists. BMA publication, Dr Toft past president of the BTA so GP should be impressed. On Page 88:
"Judging the correct dose of thyroxine.
GP ...prescribe a dose of thyroxine that raises the FT4 and TT4 to the upper part of the normal range and reduces the TSH ...to the lower part of the normal range.
Typical results would be a FT4 of 24pmol/l or TT4 of 140nmol/l and a TSH of ).2mU/l. In some patients a sense of well being is only achieved when FT4 or TT4 is raised, for example 30pmol/l or 170mnol/l and TSH low or undetectable. In this circumstance it is essential that the T3 level in the blood is unequivocally normal in order to avoid hyperthyroidism."
The ranges Dr Toft refers to are on Page 87: TT4 60-150nmol/l; FT4 10-25pmol/l; TT3 1.1-2.6 nmol/l
FT3 3.0-8.0pmol/l; TSH 0.15-3.5mU/l
This reference should help you put your results in perspective: those that really matter, the FT3 and FT4, are too low for proper health, and buying the book will give you ammo if your GP is unfortunately treating you by the TSH.
If you have not already visited the main site, it has loads of information on everything to do with the thyroid:
Thank you so much My doctor wants me to go see a Psych team about my depression. Ive had a megga shit year and he thinks my mood/ depression is down to stress... But i think not, i think its down to my thyroid. So now the battle begins.... So from what i've gathered i need my Thyroid upped and possible b12 supplements?
Yes, take Dr Toft's booklet to GP and show P88, resist any definition of "depression", you are undermedicated at the moment according to Dr Toft, note carefully his reference to a low in range or undetectable TSH. (GP can't argue with such an eminent endocrinologist.) and also stress inhibits proper thyroid action. Not "possible B12 supplements", you need them. Hampster1 advised on B12 levels, but remember only get methylcobalamin as advised, v important. Maximise adrenal health with Redditch's advice.
Maximise use of levo dosage with good info from main site, mine of useful info., really worth reading.
T4 (levo) is storage hormone, we are assumed to be capable of its conversion to T3. If your T3 levels still stay low when your dosage has been raised you might need addition of T3, very basic info Page 46 Dr Toft's booklet.
mmm well you could just buy some DHEA 25mg and see if it works.. you take it first thing in the morning.. do a week and see how you feel... it's hard when you're so fogged up you can't help yourself...
DHEA is something to support your adrenal system directly. You can get it in Holland and Barrett
You only take 25mg every morning for 6 weeks and see if you feel better.. you stop for a week and then you'll know.. because if you have an adrenal issue and it works, it will change your life
sometimes DHEA isn't enough and you have to go on full-on steroids on prescription
It wouldn't do you any harm to have 6 weeks' worth, you're in a bit of a heap at the moment.
