Could I have some advise on latest bloods πŸ™‚

Morning everyone, can I please pick your wonderful brains on my results:-

MAY 2018

TSH H 8.02 0.27 - 4.20

T4 total 81.3 66 - 181

FT4 14.30 12.0 - 22.0

FT3 5.21 3.1 - 6.8

TPO abs H 258.0 <34

Tg abs H 475 <115

hs CRP 3.35 <5.0

Ferritin 53.7 13 - 150

Vit D (25OH) 57 deficient <25

insufficient 25-50

reduce >175

Vit B12 H 747 deficient <145

insufficient 145 - 250

reduce > 569

Serum folate 21.90 8.83 - 60.8

I'm not surprised about high TSH as I've not been on Levo or NDT in the way one should/needs. Put all my attention into Vits & mins, so now's the time I need to address thyroid hormone treatment. Interestingly have had hypo symptoms return the last 2/3 weeks.

Antibodies have gone up compared to last test, I know these fluctuate & a suppressed TSH would help. Have gone GF so thought they might have come down abit, but will stick with GF foods anyway.

However CRP has come down (last year was high at 5.90 <5.0) & wonder if going gluten free & healing gut has reduced Inflammation, I'd like to think so.

Ferritin & folate need more work I think.

Still need to up my Vit D I think. Could even up my B12, test show it's high but I know one is best between 900 - 1000, so not worried about that.

If anyone could help that would be lovely.

Thank you 😊

Obviously your TSH is too high

Antibodies unlikely to drop until TSH comes down, despite gluten free diet

Vitamin D still too low. What are you taking? Vitamin D mouth spray is good as avoids poor absorption issues. Aim to improve to around 100nmol.

Testing twice yearly via vitamindtest.org.uk if not doing full blood tests

Look at magnesium and vitamin K2 Mk7 too when taking vitamin D supplements

Ferritin is not far off, just eating liver once a week may be enough to improve to half way in range

Folate, are you taking a good quality vitamin B complex daily, one with folate in. Eg Igennus or Jarrow B right

If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 3-5 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results

Dear SlowDragon

I hope you don't mind my asking but what do you think of my FT4 & FT3 results & conversion?

Thank you 😊

Thank you for replying 😊

For Vit D I use Better You spray 3000iu with 75ug K2, 3 sprays as per dose on box.

Just finished my Pure Encapsulations Mag. Glycinate at 120mg a serving.

For my ferritin I love pate & have Solgar Gentle Iron, taking 2x20mg a day with 2000mg Solgar Vit C (ester-c).

For folate I have Thorne Basic B complex.

Thank you for the links as I enjoy a good read-up.

On the point of Iron, do you happen to know if it would be ok to increase your dose during a heavy period. I figured if I did it would help increase energy & maybe not have such a bad "crash" after my period?

Thanks again

Better to improve the heavy periods by reducing TSH ?

Heavy periods are classic sign of being hypothyroid

Thank you for that, my first priority now then will be sorting my thyroid hormone treatment.

Very much appreciated SD πŸ‘πŸ»
