Still struggling on, endo appointment next week, want to be prepared! Went to GP to try and get some help, not very successful. Anyway, got some of the tests I asked for (24th Jan),

B12 447 (180-914)

Folate 13.6 (3.10-20.00)

VitD3 60 no range

TSH 1.3 (0.27-4.20)

Ferritin 64 (13.00-150.00)

Did private blood test with Trivia,

TSH 4.66 (0.27-4.3)

FT4 12.8 (12-23)

FT3 3.6 (3.1-6.8)

T4 77.9 (66-181)

Anti-thyroidperoxidas antibodies 14.4 (0-34)

Anti-thyroglobulin antibodies 11.1 (0-115)

Any views, suggestions welcome 🙏🏼

L1McG,

B12 447 is unlikely to be deficient. If you have many of the symptoms in b12deficiency.info/signs-an... go to healthunlocked.com/pasoc for advice. Endocrinologist is unlikely to be interested in B12.

Folate is good.

VitD is replete >75 and optimal 100-150. NHS is unlikely to prescribe D3 for vitD 60. I would supplement 5,000iu D3 daily for 6 weeks then reduce to 5,000iu alternate days and retest in June. VitD should be taken 4 hours away from Levothyroxine. If you buy on Amazon please use the affiliate link healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Ferritin is optimal halfway through range. You can raise ferritin by eating iron rich food. Liver once a week is a good source of iron.

How long was there between TSH blood tests? TSH 1.3 indicated adequate dosing but TSH 4.66 is over range and indicates you are undermedicated. FT4 and FT3 are both low in range too. You need a dose increase.

The goal of Levothyroxine is to restore the patient to euthyroid status. For most patients that will be when TSH is 0.2 - 1.0 with FT4 in the upper range. FT4 needs to be in the upper range in order that sufficient T3 is converted. Read Treatment Options in thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_... Email dionne.fulcher@thyroiduk.org if you would like a copy of the Pulse article to show your GP or endo.

Thyroid antibodies are negative for autoimmune thyroiditis (Hashimoto's).

Thank you, lots of interesting info! TSH 1.3 was 24th Jan and 4.66 more recent, 11th March

L1McG,

That's quite a deterioration in 6 weeks.

Yes, that’s what I thought. I’ll see what the endo says next week. Thanks again.
