Hi Everyone,

I have finally managed to get my vitamins checked and I would be super grateful for any advice as my GP refused to do the tests in the first place.

Total B12 203.0 pmol/L (250 - 725)

Folate 11.3 nmol/L (8.83 - 60.8)

HbA1c 35.0 mmol/mol (0-42)

LDL Cholesterol 3.58mmol/L (0-3)

Cholseterol 5.61mmol/L (0-5)

Liver Function

Gamma GT 40.0 IU/L (0-42)

Alkaline Phosphate 85.0 IU/L (35-104)

Albumin 40.0 g/L (34-50)

Globulin 33.2 g/L (19-35)

Alanine Transferasse 35.9 IU/L (0-35)

Bilirubin 5.7 umol/L (0-20)

Total Protein 73.2 g/L (63-83)

Vit D 67.0 nmol/L (50-200)

Ferritin 64.7 ug/L (13-150

I have put ranges in brackets, I am supplementing Vit D 5000 units every other day. My B12 and Liver function have been highlighted by the Thriva GP as being out of range.

I have just started taking 12.5mcg of T3 (sourced by myself) and my T4 remains at 75mcg so I cannot test these again until the new year. I am still feeling lethargic at times, have dry skin in my eyebrows and scalp, feel absolutely freezing most of the time and cannot get warm and usually take myself off to bed. I am also finding mys mood is fluctuating quite a bit, which I don't like much.

I would be very grateful for any advice anyone can give me.

Thank You

Sarah

Show you GP these. B12 is very low - you should be tested for Pernicious Anaemia before starting B12. Injections.

Folate is low. Taking a good vitamin B complex will help. do not start this before testing or before first B12injection

Vitamin D - 5000iu everyday likely needed. Aim for around 100nmol

Testing twice year. You may need less in summer than winter

Ferritin is slightly low - if you like liver eating once a week will boost

See this reply from SeasideSusie to lower levels over all than you, but basics apply

Ask advice on PAS healthunlocked forum about B12 and how to get need for B12 injections recognised

Just read your other post. I see GP is unhelpful

Thanks Londinium for your reply I shall have look at this, I am now taking my vet D supplement daily rather than every other day.

My tests have been done in the UK, I have to admit though I'm not great at interpreting the results, so am unaware of all the different ways they can be presented. It would be useful to know, as with most things if your in range you get no further information, just that everything is okay. :)
