Hi, not sure if this is the correct way to do a second post, can't find a way to link to the first, so not sure if this will just be double Dutch without the previous post but here goes anyway.

The doctor has agreed to a two week loading dose of B12 and thereafter for me to supplement B12 with something other than Cyanocobalamin. Also she seems OK with me upping my dose of levo by 75 mcg weekly to see if it will get TSH level between 0 and 1. She said that she had been in touch with an endo to ask for some guidance on, I think, the total reverse T3, she hadn't heard back from them. She also said treatment for Hashi's is the same as hypo, so ... It would seem that I had the blood test for IF last November, when she ordered a number of bloods done.

SlowDragon, going gluten free has made a big difference, have reduced the use of antacids to almost zero since stopping wheat.

So, now I have to get the Vits and minerals up to a good level. Was thinking of getting vit D3 with K2 drops, my magnesium level was 0.92, range, 0.6-1.0 so not sure whether I need to supplement. Could anyone recommend an effective brand of B12 and B complex there are so many brands online and in the shops.

Not sure if I've covered all the bases but any input would be great, thanks.

Magnesium tests are not reliable as your body does not store it so you only get snapshot on the day not an ongoing view. Magnesium is a co-factor for vitamin D3 so if you take vitamin D it would be best to supplement magnesium too. Magnesium citrate is generally available in health food shops, the powder is cheapest unless you have loose bowels in which case choose another kind of magnesium. I like magnesium malate.

Thanks Nanaedake, that's helpful will try the citrate first as since going GF my bowels are missing the wheat bran.

B12 needs to be methyl cobalamin.

Jarrow B12 Methyl from Amazon is good and Thorne Research B Complex from the same source. You can also buy B12 to self inject on-line from Germany .....

Hi

Glad to hear gluten free is helping

Vitamin B complex I prefer Igennus Super B complex. Two tablets daily - start with one in the morning and add the second pm if no adverse reactions. Available on Amazon

If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 3-5 days before any blood tests, as biotin can falsely affect test results

Calm vitality magnesium powder is cheap and easy to use, good for constipation too. Also on Amazon (don't get the one with added calcium)

Better You vitamin D mouth spray is good as avoids poor gut function. But then you do need separate vitamin K2

Jarrow B12 sublingual lozenges 1000mcg size - 2-5 per day just dissolved under tongue
