What is if any, the proper amount of B12 to self inject. 1ml, once a week, 2ml, once a week or 0.5ml every day. Twice a day, 0.3ml, for PA?

Prescribed, PPI’s, Antacids, for GERD about 2 years ago. I have stopped taking all antacids, PPI’s etc. Thanking you all in advance for all your help. Sincerely, RisingOne

New to all of this Pernicious Anemia Confused about physical response?

I have pernicious anemia due to GERD and much antacids, Protein Pump inhibitors, which have now wrecked my body and B12 levels.

Chest burning from cortisol overload?

I have taken antacids with minimal relief (I believe the relief I get is in my head). Could this be due to having too much cortisol released in my body?

Clarification for Ppiman and Secondtry.........

There are lots of antacids to try, I have found several preparations helpful. Gaviscon soothes, licorice tablets, peppermint oil, an anti flatulent medicine called Simethicone helps with bloating and gas.

Golf ball in rib cage left side post covid. Any ideas?

Ive taken antacids but they made no difference. I'm on lots of painkillers including naproxen but nothing is helping. I'm loathe to call 111 as I really don't want to spend the weekend at the hospital and I don't think it is an emergency. I have no symptoms that match with a heart attack.

Natural remedies and food supplements

Some medicines can cause malabsorption e.g. antacids and magnesium can inhibit iron absorption. Some conditions can cause malabsorption e.g. any condition which limits the secretion of "intrinsic factor" in the stomach can cause B12 deficiency.

Doxycycline - any way we can take it?

I wondered if I could switch back to Omeprazole just to take them (I use H2 blockers currently) or if I could get by by patching judiciously with antacids in the timescales they allow. Anyway, if anyone has managed to use these, or knows for sure it's a really bad idea I'd like to hear from you.

Underdosed with Armour

I ended up using a significant amount of antacids (Rolaids) although always after dinner and hence never near my once daily am dose of thyroid, About three months ago my doctor prescribed Pepcid (an H2 blocker) for the GERD, which I suspect also may make my Armour harder to absorb.

I need a rant!

(I now know, thanks to this forum, that that is almost certainly because I have low stomach acid and antacids can make this worse). During the phone call where the doc cheerfully told me I can't have an ultrasound he told me again - there is nothing wrong with your thyroid.

Does anyone with celiac disease have the feeling of not emptying bowel stool?

Hi. It’s been 3 months since I started my GF diet, some symptoms improved but I started to pay more attention to my digestive issues, like checking my stool nonstop, every little gas or bubbling in my stomach make me worry. Although I’ve been having GI symptoms all my life, since I’ve had chronic gastrities

I’m so glad I refused the Omeprazole and took the excellent advice from someone here to take my pred with natural, live yoghurt instead . DOCTOR’S DIARY A hidden side to wonder drugs Bitter pill: PPIs can interfere with the body’s absorption of vital minerals A wise physician once observed: “When I hear

Assessment at the Royal Free, etc

At the start of this week my partner had his transplant assessment at the Royal Free. It was a really positive experience. Because we came from Bristol we stayed in the on-site hotel, which is great! There was a lot of waiting for tests and for the medics to be available. I couldn't stay on the unit

Update After 3 Cabazitaxel Treatments.

I am receiving chemotherapy every three weeks. I had my 3rd infusion on Thursday, November 4. The good news is that I have been tolerating Cabazitaxel much better than expected so far. I have been forcing myself to get on the elliptical machine in my house 3 to 5 times per week. The ignition is difficult
