My GP refused to do my blood tests as they had been done four weeks prior and were at normal range. However 4 weeks later I felt that everything was too low and he refused to redo bloods saying I have to wait 3 months. I bought some from Blue Horizons and I was right my TSh was 7 and my ft3 was low but he said he will not act on my private bloods. I feel rubbish

blue horizon blood tests
Doctors seem to use the excuse that such lab tests are not accurate, especially if done by the finger prick test; they don't seem to realise the labs are often the same ones the NHS uses too! You will have realised lots of forum members end up DIY our thyroid health because of such beliefs. How can you monitor your only active thyroid hormone,T3, if so few GPs or even endocrinologists, are allowed to test it ( and when it is don't understand it). Have you got your results to post here, plus ranges? Forum members might advise further.
If you had Blue Horizon tests done post the results on here with the ranges for others to comment.
Use your test constructively i.e. not at the doctors.
Why don't you try self medicating with NDT that's what I do I never bother with the doctors or endos now. I just have a blue horizon No 11 test once a year and have followed
the brilliant advice on this site to become well again. I had my thyroid removed in 2015.
The cost is low about £8 per month. You have no other problems do you?
Where can we get this
Go online to either Blue Horizon which do a very good test called (Thyroid plus 11) it tests everything that you would require. The other firm is medicheck which do a simliar test, both require a blood draw. I only go once a year now but it's well worth it.
I just don't bother with Doctors or Endos I have had bad experiences from both I self medicate. I am lucky not to have any other things wrong with me and I try very hard to stay healthy and fit.
Thanks! Can you recommend where to buy the NDT?
It is disappointing GP refused to take account of your personal blood test but it just shows how unknowledgeable they really are.
If in the UK, they've been told to only diagnose when TSH reaches 10, whereas by that time we could be very symptomatic. In other countries we'd be diagnosed if TSH was above 3+.
Makes me so angry!! Can you see another GP? Practice partner? Make a complaint! Ignorant, arrogant pig. Hope you get proper treatment and feel better soon xx
If you have symptoms you should be trial treated on Levo for subclinical hypothyroidism. He should test TPO antibodies
