Hello Chelsea, following on from your last post, yes, you are undermedicated and you should have had your bloods tested every 6 weeks and your dose increased until your TSH was 1.0 or just a little lower.

As you were diagnosed in 2012, have you been underdosed since then? If so, it may help to explain your very low and under range vitamin levels. What date were these blood tests done? What is your GP planning to do about them?

Your ferritin is much too low, it needs to be mid range. Ask your GP for a full iron panel. Folate and vitamin B12 are below range. Please post these results on the Pernicious Anaemia forum and ask their advice. Your GP should check intrinsic factor to rule out pernicious anaemia.

Vitamin D is much too low. Please read SeasideSusie posts on how to treat vitamin D deficiency and go well informed to speak to your doctor.

Please tell us what the doctor does about these results as the dose of vitamin D given by the NHS is not always sufficient.

Thanks for reply the bloods were done August 2017. The GP asked me to come in and see him. I have results of complete blood count and iron panel and GP said the levels are consistent with iron deficiency. I have had an intrinsic factor antibodies test today to rule out pernicious anaemia and I have been started on iron tablets, had an increase in my meds, starting folic acid and have been given loading doses of B12 and vitamin D.

Great. that all sounds like a good start! Is this a new doctor or have you given him a shake up?? Remember to take iron tablets at least 4 hours apart from levothyroxine. Also, you can take vitamin C with iron to prevent stomach discomfort.

Remember to retest thyroid levels in 6 weeks and increase dose if needs be.

Hi I saw my new GP and took a copy of my bloods the previous GP took. He wanted to do more investigations into causes of my low vitamin and mineral levels and he said he wanted to repeat them but not before giving the supplements considerable time to raise my levels. Sorry yes I am having thyroid repeated in 6-8 weeks time.

The first thing I would do is change your doctor. To be on 25mcg since 2012 and your woeful results is negligent I would say. Your TSH is even over the top of the range when it should be 1 or lower.

Both FT4 and FT3 should be nearer the top of the ranges and the results you've stated above are positive of too low a dose. As Nanaedake states, what has your doctor said to you about your results and what action has he taken?

Thanks for reply I had my dose reduced to 25mcg 2 months ago and this is what has happened to my bloods.
