I am feeling better, but am still struggling with aches (including headaches and muscle spasms), out of breath easily (I used to run marathons) and muddled/slow thinking. I am currently at 1 grain (If you saw a previous post, I stated the wrong dosage). I think I am still not at optimal levels. Opinions?

Test (Range according to Lab) My Results

Triiodothyronine (T3) (60 - 181 ng/dL) 113

Free T3 (2.3 - 4.2 pg/mL) 2.8

T4 Free (0.70 - 1.85 ng/dL) 1.02

TSH (0.4 - 5.0 mU/L) 0.23

Are you self medicating because if so, I think you should definitely increase your dose. Your results are low for both T4 and T3. Try an extra quarter grain for a week or so and then go to one and a half. That should make a difference but you may need to go even higher. I am on one and a half but have been on much higher doses of T4/3. NDT is certainly suiting me better. Hope you get it right soon.

Thanks for responding Hennerton. I am not self medicating, but I wanted to get opinions from the board before my next appointment on the 24th of June. You tend to be more knowledgeable than the Dr. anyway. That way I can stand firm for more medication.

I would certainly add another 1/4 grain. Your ft3 is still a bit low. The aim for some is to get the FT3 in the upper third of the range, so definitely room to add a bit more.

Remember to leave about 18hrs after last dose before having bloods drawn.

Thanks. I am skipping my dose before the labs and taking it after.

I don't think you're quite there yet, Asmile4u. Your FT3 will ideally be in the top 75% of range ie >3.72. Don't worry about the TSH and FT4 being low, that'll be due to the T3 in NDT. Are you waiting until seeing your doctor before increasing to 1 1/4grains?

Thanks Clutter. My Dr actually called me yesterday and said she called in a script to raise my dosage. I was shocked. I have never had a doctor do that before. She also said that we should postpone my appointment until after my next blood test in 3 months unless I had any concerns. I am so surprised that I am not sure what to think, but I am just going to go with it .
