Hi

I am hypothyroid taking 100mcg alternating 125mcg levothyroxine

I recently posted results for

TSH - 0.10 range 0.35 - 4.7 and T4 - 14 range 7.8 - 21

I have just got my result for T3 - 4.4 range 3.8 - 6.0

Vitamin D2 - 71.5 no range given

Vitamin D3 - 75.1 range 75 - 120

I have also just got back my Active B12 test from Blue Horizon..

Level 69 Range 25.1 - 165

All it says on the report is result within range.

I have in the last few weeks developed tingling and a pricking sensation mainly in my hands feet and face but sometimes all over my body.

I am feeling more tired, down in the dumps and sighing a lot

Could anyone comment and offer advice.

Many thanks browny

Vitd3 looks good - I used to sigh a lot when my iron/ferritin was low - have you had this tested.

Sorry cant help with the vit2d or active B12 results as I have no knowledge of these.

Hi

Thanks for your reply Moggie,

Ferritin is 65 range 15 - 300 so I think a bit low as is it best to be over 70 or is it 80?

Iron 16 range 8.00 - 34.00 not sure if 16 is O.K. or not

My ferritin is sitting at 67 at the moment and to my surprise my gastro has doubled my iron dose. She obviously thinks 67 is still too low, although I would have stopped supplementing!!!!!

Thanks Moggie, do you know if the iron of 16 is low or do we just look at the ferritin level to determine if we need to supplement.

Best wishes browny

Hi,

The one we have to look at is saturated tranferrin, mine was 12 before I started supplementing, range 15 - 50, (15/03/13) and at the last count (11/12/13) it was 16 with the same range, so maybe this is why the gastro has doubled my dose as, after eight months of supplements, it hasn't moved much has it.
