Vitamin D and B12

Can I take Vitamin D and my B complex together?

My B complex contains folate. I take just B12 the weeks I have blood tests.

Also working on ferritin which has raised from 9 (Oct) to 34.

Going to get all vitamins retested in March as now on high dose vitamin D for severe deficiency.

I take my iron at night, Levothyroxine 6am before I get up. Usually go back to sleep after lol. And B complex around 10am. Can I add in the vitamin D at same time as B vitamins?

Anything else I should be considering taking? All my vitamin levels were bad so I won't repost them all but I am working on them. Just making sure I got everything in order as I'm going private to get my thyroid levels sorted so wanna make sure I'm on right path with everything else.

Thanks. The advice on here has been invaluable.

Yes.

As you're taking D3 then you need it's important cofactors - magnesium and Vit K2-MK7. Magnesium (and D3) should be taken 4 hours away from thyroid meds unless you use topical magnesium gel or cream. Magnesium is calming so best taken late in the day. Vit K2-MK7 is fat soluble so needs to be taken with some dietary fat and will compete with D3 for fat (D3 is also fat soluble) so best take these two supplements away from each other. Vit K2-MK7 should be taken 2 hours away from thyroid meds.

This article is quite good as it shows the best way to take different vitamins:

It's the D spray recommended on here with K2 added. I'll look into magnesium. Thank-you.

Are these vitamin D tablets …or mouth spray

Tablets should be taken with food, ideally with the meal that has highest fat content ….usually that’s evening meal

Recommended to start a magnesium supplement, when supplementing vitamin D. Magnesium best taken late afternoon or evening as is relaxing and helps with sleep. Must be minimum 4 hours away from levothyroxine (and iron ideally)

You need coeliac blood test done

Did you first ask GP to check that you do not have pernicious anaemia before you added B12?

in reply toshaws
