THYROID ANTIBODIES
Thyroglobulin Antibody *120.4 IU/mL 0-115(Negative)

The thyroid function test results are within normal limits
The thyroglobulin antibody test result is positive but the negative thyroid
microsomal antibody result suggests that the likelihood of autoimmune
thyroid disease (e.g. Hashimoto's or Graves' disease) being present is low.
Sometimes thyroglobulin antibodies are used to determine the success of
treatment of thyroid cancer - if the level falls, treatment is more likely
to have been effective, as a rule.
Other conditions and situations can lead to an elevation in the
thyroglobulin antibody level - such as Type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis
and pernicious anaemia - you may wish to discuss this finding with your
usual doctor.
