how much gentle iron?
what dose should i start on… i have bought iron bisglycinate 20 mg. But have been recommended 320 mcg ferrous sulphate. So very confused at the different levels. How do these figures relate to each other? And do you have to take gentle iron on an empty stomach? The bottle says to take with food. Any

Folate testing
Im going to pay to have my folate levels checked, I'm currently taking a b complex, should I stop taking it before the test? All my other vit levels are tested and good apart from very low zinc... but endo says that suggests a gut absorption problem (I'm on 50mg a day and still just within range)

self medicating - hypo
it’s a bit of a long story, but I was hypo - didn’t know the range, but my GP said my thyroid gave up the ghost. This was 10 years ago and mediated 175 thyroxine a day, I had to have bloods a few years ago and a new GP told me I was euthyroid and stopped my thyroxine! Which I wasn’t happy about, tried

Feel like giving up

I have so many ongoing, chronic, worsening symptoms that are really having a significant impact on my ability to lead a somewhat 'normal' life - chronic reflux and stomach issues, lower digestive issues, gynae issues/fibroid, joint stiffness and mild

Help with blood test results please?
My hair has been falling out lately so I'm just back from doc's where she pronounced everything as "normal" but said my Thyroid and Calcium were both low. She didn't even test T3 so God only knows how she decided my Thyroid was low! The rest of the results were: Iron 116

Magnesium question
Hi all I've been taking the BetterYou D3000+k2 spray since 9th September. I've stopped taking a multivitamin and intend to replace the iron, B vitamins etc on an individual basis over the next months. Originally I wasn't going to replace magnesium as a matter of course but my latest magnesium blood

Grateful for help with blood test results please
Dear All, I apologise in advance for the length of this post. I have tried to include all the info that I see others being asked when they post their results. I would be really grateful for any assistance with my blood test results please. I am on T3 only. As well as any general help with interpreting

Good site for vegan nutrition info and some supplements I take
https://veganhealth.org/daily-needs/ For a good B12 source would recommend the 3 natural form supplement here : https://www.sunday.de/en/vitamin-b12/. 500mcg per day is a good safe dosage. You cannot overdose on B12 and although 500mcg seems like a lot, only an estimated 6-7mcg are absorbed of this

Is it important to keep an eye on copper/zinc levels if you take iron supplements
This is interesting to me as copper is so important in so many functions of the body. I always feel if we work on increasing the levels of one particular nutrient in the body we must keep an eye on the balance of the others. "What can cause a copper deficiency? Copper deficiency can be acquired or

New member with lots of questions about levo and NDT
Hi everyone, I just joined. My name is Anna and I am from Denmark. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto´s disease in December 2002, based on a high TSH, low FT4, and high anti-TPO and anti-TG levels. I was told it was very easy to manage, and that all I needed to do was to take levothyroxine until my TSH

Help for extreme pain in thighs and arms
I took my last prednisone tablet mid May (GCA diagnosed late April 2019); cortisol test in June was 203 (reference range in Canada is 135-537); 380 in September so my adrenal glands are well on their way to recovery. I have been on Actemra injections since October 2019, now every three weeks (until January

horizontal dents on fingernails
Hi all, Thanks for all the information on this forum, it’s very helpful. In the last couple of months I have noticed horizontal dents on my fingernails. I haven’t been to the doctors yet but I wondered if anyone here has experienced this too? l heard it could be an iron deficiency or a zinc deficiency
