Magnesium/
My RLS started after a hip operation in late December. I now control it with 2 magnesium plus zinc tablets and 1low dose (25mg) ropinirole . I also take a cocodamal last thing before going to bed. I will slowly try to give up on the ropinirole if I can.

HRT and salivary cortisol test
Do I need to stop my HRT before undertaking a salivary cortisol and DHEA test? I can't find anything which says to but I have read that HRT and OCP should be stopped for six weeks prior to a short syntacthen test. I know I should stop my nasal steroids for a couple of weeks before, and ditch the zinc

should t3 be added
I had been on 50mcg levo and then asked for a blood test - readings as follows tsh was 3.7 (range 0.2 - 4.5) t3 was 1.2 (range 0.2 - 4.5) last t4 was 13.00 (range 9 - 21) I am now on 75mcg which the doc was reluctant to give me as he said I was "in range". I had to bully him into giving me the 75mcg

My endo appointment is in May. I'm feeling rotten, on 50mcg of Levo daily and its giving me hyper symptoms. I now am depressed and am having panic attacks. I want to start supplementing with vits - have read that zinc, vit d, calcium/magnesium are important. In my last blood test my vit c and ferritin

How much T3 with T4?
I am looking for help from the community on T3 and T4 - I am about to start self-medicating with T3 today and was thinking of 25mcg initially a day. What do I reduce my T4 by to work with this? Should I also monitor my heart rate for a few days? Any suggestions/advice would be welcome! Some Details

Hi... I've been self mediating with ndt (thyroid s) since Oct last year and have felt loads better. Although I am tired and have joint pain still. I had low ferritin a while back and so supplement 3 x 200mg ferrous sulphate. Looks like I've really over done it! I also supplement Jarrow b12 5000 mg,

Help
I have been taking 100 Levo for about 2 years. Very rarely do I feel well. I think I noticed a marked improvement for a couple of months last summer after having 2 steroid injections for a frozen shoulder. After reading lots of posts on here and some of Isabella wentz' book I started taking supplements

Should all Lupus patients have Vitamins and minerals checked as Vit D deficit often missed?
Hi Following our talks on Vitamin D deficiency and how a lot of us find an improvement after we take regular prescribed doses, have any of you subsequently had a full screen of vitamin and mineral levels? It just seems to me that if we sometimes struggle to get D checked, when we have our lack of exposure

Choline & lethal PCa (with a note on Lecithin)
This is a follow-on from my Eggs post. Erin Richman speculated that the increased risk of lethal PCa associated with eggs, was due to choline. While eggs are rich in choline, choline is present in many foods at significant levels. One can't avoid choline & nor should one try, but it seems prudent

How can I avoid all these foods?
Good morning everyone, It seems like my "avoid" list is growing longer every month. Since sticking to this I have lost just over a stone (since the end of December) I am always hungry and feeling worse because of it. I had been doing really quite well healthwise until I was told (by a professional
