Advice please
Hi all, Happy New Year. I received my appointment letter for the removal of the BCC on my nose on Christmas Eve. It is to be done by Mohs surgery on 20th January. I am dreading it, scared silly about it, and thinking of cancelling. I have read some horrific stories, people losing bone as the cancer had

Wound sites?!
Hi I was just wondering if someone could help me I had my laparoscopy two weeks ago yesterday and two of my wound sites are still weeping quite a lot and I'm finding myself changing my dressings everyday to keep it dry which I know I shouldn't be because of the risk of infection. Could anyone give me

healed well. I have had a couple of episodes of 'short beats' for a few hours at a time but this has not occurred for about 10 days now. My cardiologists says that these are atrial bigeminy and not too much to worry about.

Roflumilast
Has anyone any experience of using Roflumilast? I know that it is not "licensed" as a prescription drug in Britain unless you are taking part in a clinical trial, but is used in Europe and America. The 'obstructive' element of my COPD seems to be getting worse and I wondered if it was worth getting

Low vitamin D levels may impair outcome of bariatric surgery
Researchers also found a connection between delayed healing of
wounds
and the season. During the winter months, which are less sunny and low in vitamin D, 349 (0.16 per cent) patients experienced this type of complication compared with only 172 patients (0.07 per cent) in the summer months.

Sex and the Endo
What I don’t…or what I haven’t said until now I guess… is that I have so many other
wounds
healing; the surgical ones are the tip of the iceberg. The years of painful sex have engrained a fear in me that doesn’t just go away overnight because the endo was cut out.

The chest
wounds
are healing well but there is still a bit of tightness in the chest. Today I have had a few premature beats but general rhythm is fine. I know it is early days in terms of the scarring that needs to occur for full effect but will contact the surgeon if the problem persists.

Lymphoedema and aroma therapy
Hi just want to have a moan. . . My lymphoedema nurse advised against the use of lavender to massage on skin as this and some other aromas encourage cancer cells to grow. I have looked this up and can only find positive reviews on this therapy. I will continue with my aromatherapy it has always soothed

Hi from Whittlesey
I hope all are well. A lot of physical things going on lately. The pred is currently down to two MG's/day. Have had hip surgery. Recovery became problematic due to the meralgia paresthetica (inguinal tendon wrongly connects to the lateral cutaneous femoral nerve). Had to lighten up. Was later taken

Finally
Hi I have finally got my date for total hysterectomy (due to adenomyosis), ovary removal, excision and possible bowel resection. 11th March. I can't wait to get this done and get on with the road to recovery.

Dressings off after first lap... now what?
I gave the
wounds
a little wash with warm water, but now what? They hurt and feel very exposed without dressing, do I just wash normally, should I bathe them? I wasn't given any instructions, I have put a call into the hospital but just wondered what did you do ?

CRPS Sufferers
It does this in approximately 10% of us. 7 – 8% of us may get
wounds
that take a very long time to heal and in the worst cases never do. The DoH has failed to comply with my request for 2013/14 and 14/15 figures but these are the official ones for 2009 – 2013.

Vein pain??
Hi all. Just wondered if anyone gets like a vein pain in legs and feet. I keep getting pain on bottom of foot and it feels like it's my vein and it's swollen. It feels like it's throbbing and going to burst. It's really difficult to walk when it hurts so much xx

What are these on my hands please...Anyone know? (See photo)
Hi, I am terribly worried about these cuts that never heal. The big one has been on my left hand for about 5 years and has never healed. (See photo) I have another one on my thumb which started off as a blood blister as result of a fall and now is refusing to heal and going the same way as the big one

Search for a new Pulm
So my Pulm released me as a patient today. I had emailed an update. I had mentioned I saw my PCP and that he recommended I use my Dulera which I had stopped. My Pulm said it was counterproductive to see "several" different physicians for the same problem, even though I only see him and my PCP. Mentioned
