Lumpectomy v therapeutic mammoplasty TNBC
I am about to have my last neo adjuvant chemo of carbo/paclitaxel (12 weeks) which followed 5 x FEC and now anxiously considering surgery. Surgeon at 1st mentioned lumpectomy but also discussed therapeutic mammoplasty ... which he seemed to be more towards following my ultrasound. Seems that he can

Here I am again
Not sure why I am writing this. I just don’t know what to do. My postpartum mood disorder has not been properly treated. Been having some symptoms since first child in 2015. Got really bad after birth of 2nd in 2017. Anxiety and depression have taken me again. External factors have depleted my happiness

Diagnostic Laparoscopy Operation - When can I travel?
Hi All I have laparoscopy operation booked for 20th June (right in the middle of summer season). It would be good to know few things, - what to expect ? - what is the recovery time like? I have booked a holiday for the end of July not sure whether that would be enough time to recovery to go on a plane

Tortured by a Butterfly -- Dermatology and extreme sun reactions
Hi Guys, Got my Rheumatology letter yesterday, which threw me in multiple directions (and upset me about the breast explant situation again -- but I'll save that for another day). Because forefront on my mind is my Dermatology appt this afternoon. Yesterday, I provoked 2 bright red, painful burns

Numb
So, with each day that passes this week I've grown more and more numb. I feel that euphoric feeling you get when riding a roller coaster...although none of what I'm experiencing is remotely fun and exciting. My heart feels as though it's in my arm and I'm resting just perfectly on my elbow that it's

Post Lap problems
Hello, I had my laparoscopy a week ago today, last Wednesday. I stopped taking my painkillers on Sunday as I didn’t feel like I needed them anymore. However, Monday evening I started to get a pain to the left hand side of my belly button. Maybe 4cm to left of it. It feels as though something is stuck

Tips for caring for a patient after heart operation.
Couple of larger than normal T-shirts as easier to get on and off with post op
wounds
A personal thing that worked for us was I made a photo blanket via Bags of Love (just google photo blanket and I am sure there are lots of companies that can make them).

1 Daily practice that has helped change my life.
I love my journal. I love using blue, red, green, purple, yellow, and any color I can find. I love the hard binding on the top I love the feeling against my fingers when I run my hands along the creases and edges of its cover. It makes me feel safe. It makes me feel loved. It feels like I am having

Temporal artery biopsy.
Yesterday wasn’t the best day I have ever had. My appointment was for 12 o’clock but it was 3 o’clock before my name came up on the theatre list. The procedure was painless but it took a very long time. I had to lie on my poor old fractured back for over an hour. My hair has been shaved off one side

Hi, this is my very first post and I am trying to find a solution to my nail biting problem. I have been biting my nails all my life, I was a kid when I started and never managed to stop ever since. I have been reading online and it looks like an OCD symptom. whenever I get anxious about anything I start

Getting Out of Your Head Space
Many of us who suffer from childhood trauma and/or depression and/or anxiety are stuck, fixated on something that simply won't relinquish its grasp on us when hard issues arise in our daily lives. What I do to move past it, in the short term, at least, is to go somewhere else. Get away from people,

Rectal Vaginal nodule removal- post surgery
Surgery has been a slow recovery, the
wounds
healed nicely and quickly this time round but I still have to take things slow and avoid lifting anything of weight as i immediately feel it in my stomach area. I am still exhausted and fatigued alot but am learning to balance my days better.

Bile is either extracted from live bears on “farms,” where bears are kept in small cages and are subjected to either perpetually open

or to constant invasive surgery or wild bears are hunted for their gallbladders.

I am soon to start inhaled Pentamidine instead of Atovaquone to prevent PCP - has anyone suffered any side affects from this?
I've taken Atovaquone, to prevent PCP, throughout my chemo and the last 7months post chemo. At my last Clinic appointment the Consultant decided that when I finish my present prescription of Atovaquone, I will commence inhaled Pentamidine once every 4 weeks instead of the Atovaquone . I'm wondering if
