Wormwood Scrubs parkrun - No.15 - Run!
In the shadow of the famous prison, I did my 15th different parkrun. Unfortunately, I wish there had been a bit less shadow, as the course was very muddy.
I find with tough courses my speed drops over time as my legs get tired. My heart rate also drops, so it’s more of a strength/endurance loss than
I did it!
Wormwood Scrubs for providing enough soft ground for a varied and enjoyable run each time;
And, last but not least, my Enell sports bra! I advise any woman who is more than a DD to invest in one of these - it completely changes the whole experience.
W5R3 no sweat!
Much helped by a lovely crisp bright morning with no wind, and the two cheery old geezers setting out markers in Wormwood Scrubs for, I guess, a Parkrun, who smiled and said "well done" as I waddled past.
W5R2 in the bag, but should I worry about my knee?
Only people on this site will appreciate how this feels and seeing the bright blue sky over the frosty fields of Wormwood Scrubs Common just made me feel on top of the world.
I am so stoked. Bring on Week 5 Run 3.
Slight worry though. I am a bit bothered by my right knee.

Admittedly, the pace won't win me any medals at the Commonwealths this year, but I don't think I've EVER run for 25 minutes straight. not even in the dreaded school cross-country lessons, when we were sent off to run around Wormwood Scrubbs while our PE teacher nipped off for a quick one in The Brewsters
