I went to the cardio because I would have short episodes where my heart would be fast. After a negative stress, monitor and ekg he determined I had afib that wasn't bad. I didn't have high bp basically nothing medically wrong. He put me on 25 mg of metropol 2xs a day and I started having more episodes

Vaccine for Mitral Valve Prolapse?
Hi, I’m new to this so I’m sorry if this is in the wrong place. I was diagnosed with MVP 10 years ago with mild regurgitation. I also have first degree heartblock though I understand that’s trivial. I have the annual free flu vaccines and have had the pneumonia vaccine etc and have an annual hospital

Hi all, Can I ask what your angina pains you get, as I am having different pains recently like electric shock to the heart they only last for a second, the other night I had about 8, I took gtn and the pain did go eventually. My doctor at the hospital said that shooting pains are not a symptom of angina

Frightened
I’ve recently been diagnosed with Stage 2 adenocarcinoma and about to undergo 8 weeks of chemo then surgery. It’s all been explained to me and someone on this site likened the surgery to being as major as heart surgery. What I’m struggling with right now is a sense of complete detachment, like I feel

APIXABAN - Is it making me feel so wierd
Iam an 87 year old male and have always been relatively fit and healthy. Although I had no symptoms of Atrial Fibrillation, I was diagnosed with A F last Summer and was prescribed Apixaban 2.5mg twice a day. Since then I have felt generally light headed with the feeling of being on the cusp of fainting

Tricuspid repair/replacement
Hello everyone, my tricuspid valve was damaged in the course of ablation some years ago. I found out last year that my heart is no longer coping well and my valve needs repair. Are there any, women in particular, who have had open heart surgery or valve repair that can offer any advice or information

Titrating down from Amiodarone
About 2 years ago my OH was in a catch 22 situation. At 85 he was in persistent AF with aortic stenosis with an EF of 35% and quite symptomatic with deteriorating QOL. After angiogram established there were no blockages a cardioversion was arranged to see if NSR was possible and Amiodarone started

Reduction in blood thinners
My Mam had a double heart bypass in July 2019 after CA and many HAs over a 6 year period. Her body just didnt like her stents! She has recovered well and is doing more more than I've seen her do in years, which is great. She has had her blood thinners removed from her med list, however is still on aspirin

Does anyone know what this is? This was on a letter as diagnosis from cardiologist to my GP in addition to paroxysmal atrial fibrillation but was never mentioned to me.
