Good evening all, so... I’m due open heart surgery soon on my mitral and aortic valves along with (excuse my lack of terms) and a replacement of the bit of tube they clamp to stop the blood flow, I’ve been told they will do a procedure called Deep hypothermic circulatory arrest, can anyone explain in non google medical terms what this involves please ? I’ve got the general idea but would like to hear from a general person rather than words of a surgeon, I hope you understand why I’m asking. Many thanks Dave.
