Measuring pain
This is a question is for all the ladies who have had a heart bypass. I am frequently asked how painful the procedure was. Well I had my first child over 50 years ago ( not by Caesarian ) and if I could compare I would say child birth was by far the most painful. It is something still in my mind now

Good days and Bad days (i rant and vent) read or not i'm just going to drop my feelings here.
We all have them, the good days, and the bad ones? (rant about the bad days) I feel the time between the good days are getting longer and longer though. I've been zoning out more, having less reality in my life, finding the blury days mould into weeks of endless slumping zoning groaning urging headaching

Great Words by Dylan Thomas - praying we all don’t go down easily in this struggle.
Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night. Good men, the last wave by, crying how

Apixaban and Long Covid
Have just seen a report on BBC News about a trial being done to use Apixaban or Atorvastatin in the treatment of Long Covid (which can lead to death in 12% of patients who were admitted to hospital with Long Covid and then discharged) see this link for full details https://www.cam.ac.uk/research/news

How many here like us had needed heart surgery postponed in last 12 months? Still waiting? Hoping for it to be in this next COVID lull?
Still concerned that some Trusts, NHS generally not attending to non-COVID life threatening, time critical surgeries as they should be.

Chest Pains.
I keep getting chest pains but had X-rays for my chest and it is all normal. They keep saying it is muscular pain but I have taken everything they give me and nothing seems to work.

What are the particular coronary artery disease risk factors from Hashi’s?
Case: ECG reading in a healthy, non-smoking, young person (42) with Hashimoto’s that indicates possible coronary artery disease. Question: What is the most likely Hashimoto’s connection to this kind of reading / heart disease? Background: No thyroid or vitamin tests done in hospital. Most recent TSH

Rate control strategy
Does anyone just take a fast acting metoprolol or Diltiazam when they go into AFIB, vs. taking a slow release 24 hour dose every single day. It almost seems my AFIB comes on easier when my heart rate and blood pressure is in the low range. Thanks!

Has anyone had kidney problems after heart surgery ?
I underwent surgery for a leaky mitral heart valve in September and unfortunately suffered renal failure which meant I was on dialysis, until my kidneys recovered. Has anyone else had the same experience ?

Wishing everybody a beary happy Easter. 🐻
I just wanted to wish you all a very happy Easter, lots of fun, lots of chocolate and lots of love. I also wanted to share with you this chainsaw sculpture hubby did. It is his first project and it has taken him 6 years off and on since felling the tree to reaching this point because it was abandoned

Have you ever used a patch to record the rhythm of your heart at home?
We think diagnostic technologies like this can be especially useful during the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing a patient to first have a telephone/video consultation before the patch is sent direct to their home. Zio is a promising new ECG patch which can be worn for up to 14 days. The National Institute

Recent diagnosis of Paroxysmal AF and underlining Lown-Ganong-Levine (LGL) syndrome
Hello all, I haven't written on here before but thought I would see if anyone knows some further information then what I could find on Google... ( which has not been helpful) At the end of January this year I ended up in hospital with AF. My resting heart rate was around 160 bpm and irregular, normally
