Posted last week about my pacemaker, yesterday I had my first shower which helped I felt human again ,,,, it’s been sore all week but starting to ease a bit now , with help of painkillers ,,, however yesterday I felt really odd for 20 minutes ... on checking my heart rate it seems my bradycardia had returned ,it went down to 34 & up to 80 odd within seconds quite a few times ,I’ve called hospital awaiting Reply ,,,,, question for anyone with pacemaker does this sound like adjustment issue on pacemaker level ,,or lead failure in atria ,,,, I feel ok otherwise

Pacemaker update
Until you have your first 6 week check you won’t know and I wouldn’t like to guess. Your PM should kick in after a few seconds so your slow heart rate shouldn’t be sustained. you may find the procedure itself irritated your heart so it is letting you know in no uncertain terms, I certainly had a few glitches in the first few months.
How you feel is more important so if you feel unwell don’t hesitate to ring for help.
It does take time to settle and for the technicians to get the settings correct for you. i think I had several appointments to get it right, set too high, then too low..
Best wishes.
Thanks I’ll wait see how things go ,
You will be absolutely fine thats quiet normal after a while you will forget its even there ive had pacemaker almost 9 years now due new battery again very soon just trying to hold off during lockdown I am pacemaker dependent so my batteries don't last as long as others
Hi Truckerclark. I had a 2 wire pacemaker put in on 11/02/20. I woke up with bradycardia and got the pacemaker put in same day. Mine is set at 60 bpm for my LV. All has been well except about a month after surgery my bpm dropped to 46 twice in a matter of seconds. It has never done it again. I'm not a Dr but don't believe it will be a problem. I know my leads are still fine. By the way, I developed afib and had an ablation since. Best wishes!
