So my dear wife wanted to go shopping for bits and bobs and was going to get a taxi both ways so I said I'd join her. Dunelm.

Nice cafe's and cake's etc for when I get bored

I too it really easy and wore my new Skechers with no socks. I used one crutch (please don't chastise me)

I didn't go flitting around or doing anything too exciting.

I hardly ached when I got home and within two hours there barely an ache in my ankle, foot and none in my calves.

So whilst I'm not going out frolicking among the daffodils today it seems I'm getting better.

I did take a couple of Co-codamol and rubbed Voltarol into the usually bad achy parts too.

Hi,

An update on Sketchers ….my podiatrist just visited, so I asked her opinion on said brand.

Her view - no problem with them at all - thinks in the past there may have been a ‘political’ dispute between the company and the podiatry people. So the name was blackened/derided by certain members in the medical profession. At it’s stuck.

So long as any footwear has a slightly raised heel and toe under sole and the the arch is well supported by the insole [definitely not flat] - and foot is general supported by outer fabric particularly heel and ankle then all good. And always wise to get feet measured when buying new…

Showed her my Sketchers - got the thumbs up😊

I had saw my podiatrist on Saturday and she really believes in them. She carries a University of Plymouth Bachelor's as well. The only thing I don't like about Skechers is they are Made in China

I had a favourite brand of shoes made in Germany. They switched manufacture to China and the result was they went bust, "Pairs" that were different sizes, poor quality workmanship. Just a mess.

Very disappointing when that happens..

Had to laugh at my podiatrist today she told ne about a old boy she seen recently and his feet were in a bit of a mess so she said "can I see your shoes". When he showed her, there were old and battered, so she asked how long have he's had them - reply 'oh about 30 years, they're very comfortable!' 😲

She got her catalogue out - and suggested he invest in a new pair... whether he will or not is a different matter...
