Hope this is a blip...
Hi all, I'm noticing a return of the nerve pings and tingles that first took me to the gp 5 months ago, especially the weird quivering lips... all this disappeared pretty soon after 6 loading doses, and I SI every 3 days since then. Taking iron, folic acid, VitD as recommended and eating a daily banana

List of medications to avoid?
Hi all, hope we're all getting our natural Vitamin D on this sunny Sunday☀️? I understand there are some medications that can badly affect us B12 deficients - certain antibiotics for instance. Is there a definitive list available? I've searched this forum but can't find anything. I'd really like to

steroid reduction problems
I reduced to 11.5 mg from 12.5 mg 10 days ago. I don’t feel well in a non specific way eg as when having a virus. After showering and dressing I need to sit down for a couple of hours to recover. To be fair this has been the case for weeks. I don’t do any housework ( husband does it) can’t attend yoga

Vitamine C and a flare-up?
Hello to everyone. I feel that a very large dose of vitamine C has caused my present flare and I'm just wondering if anyone else has been in this situation. I've had RA for over 30 years and after the first year or two in has settled in my hands, wrists, feet and ankles, so I consider myself lucky.

Maybe helpful
I am not from the UK and am not familiar with the bureaucracy. It is my understanding that the protocol for the treatment and diagnosis of B12 written by the British National Formulary is actually written as guidelines for hematologists. If that is correct, a ploy to get medicial help is have in

Prescribed levothyroxine at last!
After a long struggle, you know how it goes... I have finally been offered a trial of levothyroxine by a GP. My Medichecks results in 2020 were ignored by my GP (serum TSH 6 range 0.7-4.2) plus presence of large amount of antibodies. NHS ones kept coming back 'normal'. A different GP agreed to

Fatigued with anxiety
Hi, I have hypothyroidism which was diagnosed three years ago and am currently on Levothyroxine 100mg daily. My memory has improved to a more normal level but I wake up every morning barely able to open my eyes and in work I am able to function, but I lack sharpness and feel detached, almost like I am

Extra folate & biotin?
Since 24th April, I’ve taken 50mg levo daily, with BioCare Adreno Complex, Igennus Super B-Complex and separate Igennus B12. It’s early days, but in due course I plan to increase levo to 75mg, then 100mg, if my obliging GP will prescribe it. My question is this: is it safe/advisable/helpful to add in

Private GP visit
I saw I private GP today as I felt with more time to go through my symptoms and tests I might get somewhere. But she is of the opinion that my B12, ferritin and folate levels were all fine and nothing to worry about. They are within range. I asked about my symptoms, but she didn’t feel they warranted

Treating muscle pain post zoledronic acid infusion
I had my first zoledronic acid infusion just over 24 hours ago. I was recommended to take some paracetamol before bed, which I did. I had some migraine associated visual disturbances just before I turned my light out, but slept through OK. This morning I developed a headache, so took more paracetamol

An error I forgot about.
A few months back I used a multi use vial after not having used it for an unknown time. I have sense come to understand that once the vial is open one should either use it up or throw it away. I use 90 days as my maximum length of time to use a vial once it is opened or mixed. I take tape and write

Reversing out worse than actual symptoms
I am 32 years old and had B12 deficiency. B12 was <83 pg/ml (normal 180-914) as the lab could not test below this value and Vitamin D was 16 ng/ml (normal 30-100). I had multiple symptoms, some are mentioned below 1. Vertigo 2. Consistent dizziness (feeling like sitting on a boat all the time) 3.

New to PA and need info and support
Hi, for nearly 10 years I have been returning blood tests with low b12 levels, recently these have been 140 / 155 / 170 and 2 weeks ago 165. I continued to advise GP that there was an issue. In 2018 I had 6 loading doses but no follow up treatments. Throughout 2023 I reported tiredness and more concerningly

I still have the same symptoms, although some have improved a bit, but not gone, by any means. Still housebound. I list below Blood test results. Can anyone suggest an issue that may cause my symptoms because my GP says no action, normal. Serum 25 - HO Vit D3 level 135nmol/L 50-174

Does a B12 injection affect a blood test
Got my blood test tomorrow morning at 7:50 I've been off all my vitamins since the weekend but I'm over due my B12 injection, can I have it today or will it skew the results I've had 12 weeks at 25mcg and 8 weeks at 50 mcg so I really don't want to stuff it up
