How to defer DVLA test?
I have a DVLA test arranged for the 24th of this month and I have an appointment at my local SpecSavers as my eye prescription has changed since my last eye test in May. I was due to have my DVLA test last August but contacted the SpecSavers DVLA Team explaining I was having treatment for a corneal

Article on steroid side effects (dated Nov 2018)
Albeit not a new paper but in context still significant. (??) The diagnosis of cataracts in steroid users may be because those on steroids tend to have more eye exam. (Which reminds me to book my next.) https://www.practicalpainmanagement.com/resources/news-and-research/polymyalgia-rheumatica-steroid-side-effects-new-findings

PTSD from chronic illness?
Hello lovely people, I’ve been reading recently about the trauma resulting from living with chronic illness. It seems there is a growing body of research acknowledging the traumatic effects of living with a threat that resides in your own body (something they’re calling Enduring Somatic Threat). I

Possible UTI at time of Lucentis Injection
Hi guys, I am due to have my lucentis injection tomorrow (right eye WMD, left dry MD). I also have the symptoms of a UTI. I get them regularly due a kidney disease I have. I'll tell the hospital of course, and see my GP, but I wondered if anyone had any experience of turning up with a systemic

Anyone had EMDR
Hi all like so many on here we all know how our mental health suffers following the sort of cardiac problems we all have. I’ve been told a few times due to My 2 x HT and quadruple CABG all within a month and what I’ve seen at work I probably have PTSD well that’s now been confirmed and I have to say

Pilocarpine
I am already using Cosopt (twicde a day) and Monopost (once a day) but pressure still a bit too high so have been prescribed pilocarpine in addition (four times a day). Interested to hear from anyone who isusing Pilocarpine especially re side effects. Bit worried to read that it can cause retinal detachment

Question
Besides having PTSD and anxiety, I'm also Type 1 Diabetic. I'm on the fence about getting a service dog. I think one would help a lot not only with my PTSD/anxiety, but also my Type 1 Diabetes, since its uncontrolled. Part of me wants to get one because I think it would really help in my everyday life

Hydroxychloroquine staining
I was prescribed a daily dose of hydroxychloroquine, alongside weekly methotrexate, when I was diagnosed with RA and Sjogrens 7 years ago. Two years ago I developed grey patches on the skin of my shins, which look like bruises but aren't tender to touch. I contacted my rheumatologist and sent photos

Scaly skin on eyelid, itchy and red conjunctiva
Hi all, hope everyone is well :) I've been feeling pretty good lately, and I'm due for another blood test to determine my NDT dose soon. The puffiness in my eyes and face have continued to improve, and the difference is quite noticeable. All of that being said, however, I noticed around the beginning

Best mobile phone for Ataxia?
hi all, my brother suffers badly with his eyes, the blurry vision has gone worse and he’s struggling to read books or watch telly. He uses an “old school” mobile phone since he cannot stand the glare from smartphone screens. What mobile phones do you recommend? I’d like to get him a new one as this

HiI am on Amgevita 40mg fortnightly amongst other things. Started in May this year. My recent mammogram report showed irregular microcalcifications which are alarming for me. Nightmares
I suffer from nightmares likely due to PTSD. I am looking for feedback from individuals who have suffered frequent nightmares and have found an effective tool in managing the effects from them.

Ocular hypertension and insomnia
My glaucoma consultant is concerned that the IOP in my left eye is too high. I’ve already had a trab on my right eye and she says that if the left one doesn’t go down I will need to have a trab on that eye too. I’ve been suffering with insomnia since I got Covid about a month ago and haven’t had a good

Anyone with ET use Besremi?
Pegasys is causing me significant liver enzyme increases. I have high risk ET, CALR-1 and resistant to Hydrea. Pegasys has worked well for past 8 years but now liver can no longer tolerate. Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen and what the change in cytoreductive management strategy was
