Hello! I'm a newbie on here and recently been told I'm likely to have open angular glaucoma as I've several risk factors, these being high eye pressures, pigment dispersion, retinal detachment with secondary cataract developing (waiting on op). I've been started on monopost and tioplex to bring down my pressures however I'm feeling quite uncomfortable with these. My eyes are dry and I'm using alot of eye drops for dry eyes through out the day. One of my eyes twitch and lid looks quite profound. I get really sore eyes during the night even though I use night eye ointment and drops for pressure are put in the morning. Does anyone else struggle like this? Will I need to keep trying different drops before I find one that works for me without discomfort? I can't imagine having to cope with this for the rest of my life. I'd love to hear other peoples experiences and advice. Thank you xx

Advice needed for eye comfort
Hello AlwaysKind.
Using your dry eye drops in 20-30 minutes before putting the glaucoma drops in, may help with the discomfort. As both drops are preservative free, they will be more gentle on the eye.
If you are experiencing any discomfort with these drops, don't feel you have to leave it until your next appointment. You can call the eye secretary so that they can make the consultant aware and get back to you.
A heated eye mask may help to soothe the eyes as well.
Thank you so much for your response! These are all really useful suggestions that I'm definitely going to try.
My next eye appointment isn't until January but I think I will be contacting them sooner as it just doesn't feel right for me yet. I just hate being a bother!!
Thank you again xx
Also, make sure the dry eye drops are preservative free.
I used to have sore, itchy eyelids and a consultant recommended Blephasol to clean the skin around the eye and this helps. I find my eyes are less prone to dryness when I can outside more, so I try to have a short walk every day. Hope things improve for you.
Dear AlwaysKind. Sorry to hear about your problems. I use clinitas eye drops for my dry eyes. I also have the Eye Doctor Eye mask, maybe this might help you. Good luck.
