Hi all like so many on here we all know how our mental health suffers following the sort of cardiac problems we all have. I’ve been told a few times due to My 2 x HT and quadruple CABG all within a month and what I’ve seen at work I probably have PTSD well that’s now been confirmed and I have to say works mental health team have been brilliant I’m starting a course of EMDR in a few weeks time, it’s supposed to be really good from what I’ve read just wondering if anyone has ever tried it? It’s got to be worth a try Christmas and New Years we’re very emotional, I cried several times it’s just so hard coming to terms with the fact I shouldn’t be here and how lucky I am not to be dead, it’s getting better but it’s a slow process to recover from being super healthy to being so close to death and being told it’s a miracle your alive.
Thanks

Hi Jako999. So glad you're starting therapy. I was having CBT therapy then I was diagnosed with PTSD also. I started EMDR therapy. I found it really helped. I must tell you though that it gets harder before it gets better, because they take you back to what has caused your traumas. It is worth it though. I hope this helps x
Hi I am glad you are interested in EMDR! This is a great therapy for trauma and for many things in fact. When I worked as a psychotherapist I practiced it and it is truly an amazing therapy that acheives results more quickly than conventional 'talking' therapies. I hope it helps you, keep us posted!
