polymyalgia and brachytherapy

I am 63 diabetic and recently diagnosed with pmr and prostate cancer. I am waiting for brachytherapy treatment for the cancer but the doc is uncertain about doing this while I am on pred / any ideas?

Hi,

I had radio therapy for prostate cancer whilst on pred. No one mentioned any issues about this at the time, and I had no problems.

I don’t know about brachytherapy, but throughout my various consultations, there was no mention of pred at all, and they knew I was taking it.

Another long tim sufferer of both PGCA and PMR (over 11 years) has had postrate cancer and never been told to stop pred. If he had been told, the choice would not have been a good one at all.

If your Doc is uncertain then he should be talking to someone who is a specialist in cancer treatment - words fail me.................
