Fibroscan today
Hi all I had my 4th fibroscan today My results were kpa 11.8 or 10.5 CAP 317 The CAP score has gone down since last year, so that’s some good news I’ve been dieting really well however this week with no sugar at all apart from what occurs naturally in some meals… I’ve not lost an ounce, little disheartening

Calmare Therapy/Scrambler Therapy
Has anyone tried Calmare or Scrambler Therapy for Neuropathic nerve pain post surgery after having a spinal fusion carried out for scoliosis? Been reading about it online, not available in the UK but it is in Ireland, Italy and the US.

Jaw pain
I was diagnosed with GCA and PMR last November with all the symptoms, headache, scalp pain, jaw pain, episodes of
loss
of
vision
and PMR related symptoms. Fortunately my GP figured out what was going on and after a massive dose of prednisone all the symptoms went away except for the jaw pain.

Hi - I start taking Tamoxifen tomorrow as part of breast cancer treatment. Has anyone else had to take this hormone and if so how did it affect you. I am unsure how I will respond and a tad anxious. Thank you

How Does One Find a Good Neurologist?
I think that I may have been unlucky in my choice of neurologists. The last one that I saw told me that he sees thousands of patients. He said that I should be optimistic, and that I should trust him, but he didn't respond to messages that I left on his portal. My current neurologist prescribed

Gut microbiota-derived propionate mediates the neuroprotective effect of osteocalcin in a mouse model of Parkinson’s disease 2021
Interesting stuff. That osteocalcin (OCN) looks useful, but so does proprionate. Here is the full study: https://microbiomejournal.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s40168-020-00988-6 The finding in our study demonstrated that OCN increased the microbial propionate production, which might activate

Hypothyroidism diet
Can anyone tell me if there is a specific weight loss diet to help lose weight when you have hypothyroidism? I am going to get bloods etc done but have been struggling with an extra couple of stone and been oh Thyroxine for 30 years. I have recently bought books etc but they seem to contradict each other

Blood test results , platelet distribution width??
Hiya, I am low in b12 and SI EOD at the moment. Have been going through my blood results and have noticed my Platelet distribution width is always really high(35-55%) and my plateletcrit is always really low. I’m not sure what these are as I notice they aren’t usually in others results. Any input? I

Which tests next? Right Bundle Branch Block with painful symptoms.
I would be able to push myself and continue exercising during a session even though I know my heart rate was extremely high, but then I started having episodes of intense breathlessness, chest pain and

Association between dietary onion intake and subclinical hypothyroidism in adults: a population-based study from an iodine-replete area
What a very odd paper - which really doesn't get anywhere in terms of explanation. Nonetheless, it does raise my curiosity as to what might be happening and why. Pickled? Scallion? Raw? Cooked? Red, white or brown? [i]Endocrine. 2021 Jul 31. doi: 10.1007/s12020-021-02790-2. Online ahead of print.
