Severe Asthma & Exercise
Hey all, A month ago I started exercising for the first time in 10 years and to my surprise, I’m really enjoying it. I’m severe asthmatic and naturally have been fearful of anything more taxing than a brisk walk but with the success of Xolair, I felt ready to get going again. My cons. team were really

Asthma Returned?
I had asthma as a child and it faded out when I was about 16. I suffered occasional wheezing if walking in a cold wind but did not need any medication. I am now 61 and had a general anaesthetic in April and began with asthma-like symptoms in May, but not sure if this is related. Have had antibiotics

Lost inhaler
Hope all are well. Just back from a 4 day break away, just what we needed! Anyway I have somehow lost or misplaced (or put somewhere safe) my Fostair inhaler. I don’t have a spare, but have spare ventolin. I last took it yesterday morning (sat) so have currently missed (almost) 3 doses. I take Fostair

Feels like another chest infection
Just recovered from a chest infection, started steroids and antibiotics on the 5th July. Felt great afterwards was doing loads of exercise that I couldnt do before. Had specialist appointment on Wednesday gone and he was delighted with me, lung function was 100%. Even did a 11km cycle that evening

It seems different
Hi everyone, I have moderate copd and take Trimmbow twice daily and Ventolin when required. The last few days I’ve been unusually short of breath. I can’t really explain it but something is different. My stomach feels really bloated and it feels as though my tummy is pushing up into my lungs and causing

Asthma, flared again
Hi everybody well as, expected my asthma off again. Came off the 5 day course of pred and it took at least 5 days before I had, any relief. Thought I was, doing OK until a couple days, ago started tight in chest again and, couldn't do much. Last 2 nights only slept a few hours, waking up breathless

I am powerless
I don't know what can help me. Inhalators are not helping me with my asthma. I tried Fostair, Symbicort, Seretide, Flutiform, Spiriva respimat. Nothing helps me. I have to take ventolin 2-4 times a day. I have shortness of breath and my chest is wheezing. Two days ago I had a meeting with a consultant

Intense Stabbing in centre of chest
Hi everyone, just wanted to say thank you I find this forum so helpful and reassuring that there are so many of us experience the same problems, not that makes it ok but knowing others have the same symptoms and issues helps me get through the days. I wonder if I can…. ask does anyone else have this

Clenil, Why should I take it?
Hi all, Disclaimer, I've just got off the phone about this, so I'm a bit hot headed about it at the moment, I appreciate there are people who are in a much bad way than me so apologies for this post if it frustrates anyone. I've recently moved and the practise I'm with now does not give out Ventolin

Long-term asthma recovery queries
Hi all, I suppose this is a general question about long-term asthma recovery, as this is uncharted territory for me. Or if it's even asthma-related. In May 2020, I had several asthma attacks, which heavily restricted my mobility for the remainder of the year. I used to go to the gym twice a week, play

Confused
Sorry. Just been discharged (yay). Respiratory consultant said that basically all asthmatics wheeze and that I probably didn't have an asthma attack (although I do wheeze??? I was wheezing when I had the attack...) He also said not to call 999 straight away if 10 puffs of Ventolin doesn't work and I'm

Why wont my specialist let me have a nebulizer and oxygen at home
Every time I have to call the paramedics they all say that with all my lung problems why do I not have at least a nebulizer and oxygen back up. It is my obstinate specialist who says that people sit on nebulizers instead of going to A&E. you might overdose on oxygen. You might vomit into the mask and

Follow up
So, just a follow up from my post 3 days ago. I continued to struggle so yesterday I went to A&E. I was very reluctant, as I've never done this before. I shouldn't have worried, as I received amazing care. I was seen immediately, with no waiting at all. I had several meds, including nebs and hydrocortisone

Prednisone
So I'm on pred at the moment for a different disorder flare (MCAS specifically). I've never been on it for my asthma, but whilst I've only been on it a couple of days I was able to not use Ventolin today. Is that normal for it to work that quick? Or was today just a "good" day (still symptomatic, but

Medication advice please
Hi , I’ve recently been in hospital with heart problems, one of the triggers seems to be my Seretide 250 , 2 puffs a day ( I’m not suggesting this could cause anyone else problems or that anyone would stop taking it ) my asthma nurse was very defensive for some reason and wouldn’t prescribe anything

Weather
I was just wondering if anyone else is finding problems breathing. I’ve used my ventolin and it was better for a minute or two but now it’s difficult to breathe again. My peak flow I’snt too bad. It’s about 400.
