Experiencing breathing problems
Hi all, I'm Margaret, in my early seventies and have just started to experience problems with my breathing. These problems have become more severe over a few months and I have not managed to get a diagnose or effective treatment from my doctor. Although I am pleased and relieved not to have heart failure

Hey everyone, I'm 17 and from England -Brighton area. I moved to Portugal - Porto, less than a week ago and have already had 2 asthma attacks. My asthma is usually very good apart from the breathlessness and wheezing around animals. I take a fostair inhaler twice a day and my ventolin inhaler when I

Joint pain
Hello everyone. This is my first time posting on this brilliant site. I Just wondered if any one has had problems with joint pains whilst on Spiriva. I'm on Ventolin Accuhaler as well as Spiriva. Sob and exhaustion have been a real problem and I do think that sob has improved since using Spiriva

G'day all. I'm Gerald from a small country town in Central Tasmania Australia. I have COPD as a result of smoking for 50 years. I am a recently retired nurse. (Its amazing the number of nurses who do smoke) I finally quit smoking in January 2014 after 3 nasty COPD exacerbations. I completed a Pulmonary

Finally getting answers.
I've struggled with my asthma since 2011 and been passed from 1 consultant to another with inhaler changes and tablets. Recently I have had to leave my job of 28 years as the environment was to much and everthing was getting out of control. I have been passed to the Northwest Lung Centre team at Wythenshawe

Ventolin & Betablockers
Does anyone have any thoughts. Had some episodes of coughing so Doc gives me an inhaler. Taking 12mg of Metropolol BD. I know Ventolin is a Beta agonist and the other is a blocker. I'm confused here.

PSST and Ventolin
I suffer from PSVT. A fast heart rate for which I take beta blockers. I am also asthmatic. When I have to use Ventolin I find this interfere with my heart rhythm. When I mentioned this to my doctor they said that I would have to be using Ventolin a lot to do this. Just wondered what your thoughts

Asthma Attack 'n' Back (to A&E)
Had hockey trials tonight so I was grafting hard at the ice rink this evening. I was worried -- without good reason -- that by telling the coaches that I have moderate-severe asthma I would look like I'm making excuses (I'm not that great at ice hockey) so I said nothing and pushed. I used my inhaler

Should I wait or see Gp now?
I have got a cold and since this started my peak flow has dropped to around 70%. I have occasionally got a tight chest but ventolin helps relieve it. Should I wait an see how it goes, or given it takes forever to see the Gp, book something in just incase it gets worse?

Question to help a friend.
Hello everyone with COPD Had a message from a friend living in Gosport today saying her COPD was playing up - they have told her she has the lungs of a 90 year old. She only has a ventolin inhaler - I told her she could up the dose of that if necessary but she does not have a preventative inhaler.

I need some advice from people using home nebulisers
Hey, Just wondering if anyone has nebulisers at home? Have they helped you? I've always been under the impression that Drs don't like home nebulisers for asthmatics as if your bad enough to need nebulisers you should be seeking medical attention anyway. However in the last few months my asthma has
