Cold/allergy/asthma?
Last week I started with what I thought was a cold, blocked up nose, chesty cough, but I wonder now as the blocked nose comes and goes. I do however now have a trickle down my throat which is pretty gross. Chesty cough is productive but doesn't look infected. Coinciding with that, I've been feeling

Introduction; New here, and to asthma... Kind of! Relieved in one sense and scared on the other.

Doctor visit today - confused??
Hi all, since diagnosis 6 weeks ago with COPD and put on Spiriva I have felt worse shortness of breath and had high pulse rate with palpitations. New doctor in my gp surgery and took an appointment with him as he had a slot before my own gp. He still didn’t go into stages and said not very bad but muttered

Inhalers
Hi, all. I have been reading some good things about this relatively new COPD drug Anoro Ellipta. Has anyone tried it? And, if so, what are your thoughts? I currently am taking Spiriva Respimat and Symbicort, with Ventolin as my rescue inhaler, and I am finding that I'm using the Ventolin more than I

Use of ventolin inhaler
Hello. My Auntie is 80 years old. She has advanced Alzheimer's and dementia. She is wheezing quite a bit when breathing at the moment. She has a ventolin inhaler. A student nurse who helps to care for my Auntie has said that we are probably best giving her the inhaler every four hours for the next few

Being nebuliser in A &E
When I had my asthma attack recently I went to A &E and was treated with a neubliser. The nurse who gave it to me was just going to set it up and leave me to it. I did stop here before she just set it up and asked a few questions. I never had this treatment before but have been aware of it through this

Another trip to A&E
Last night I woke up with the beginnings of an asthma attack at 12:30 am. My throat was really itchy and I started to cough. I gave myself ventolin 2 puffs initial then 2 more etc til I got to 10. Still no improvement but peak flow was perfect. So got up and found my husband who hadn't gone to bed

Antihistamine with asthma meds
Hello everyone I have just started taking budesonide morning & night. I use ventolin as well when needed. The weather here in the south of Spain is warming up & the flowers are starting to bloom, a sign of Spring. I am allergic to pollen. Can I take histamines while also taking the asthma meds? Thanks

New to asthma
Hi, I'm a 35 year old male, very fit until 3 weeks ago. Since then I've had a tight chest and breathlessness, CRX have been clear, as have bloods. Tested positive for coronavirus hku1, not sure if that's relevant. Not usually asthmatic, but hospital suspect asthma.... although until recently been running

Oxygen sats
Random question, does anyone know how much oxygen saturation should change during exercise, if at all? I have asthma and am struggling with strenuous exercise despite using ventolin before exercise, warming up slowly, and exercising inside. I'm not even working out at full capacity. I start ok then
