It seems different

Hi everyone, I have moderate copd and take Trimmbow twice daily and Ventolin when required. The last few days I’ve been unusually short of breath. I can’t really explain it but something is different. My stomach feels really bloated and it feels as though my tummy is pushing up into my lungs and causing the sob . Have any others experienced this? Would love to hear your thoughts.

The best advice would be to speak with your GP. Any problems with the diaphragm can make breathing more difficult. A bloated feeling can be an indication for a number of non lung related conditions. If it becomes worse ring 111 for advice.

I would check it out with your health professional tomorrow or ring 111 .

A few months ago I had bloating , upper stomach pains and my breathlessness felt different from normal .

I tried liquid antacid , then I was prescribed a short course of omeprazole , after being examined by a GP .

I tried to explain to my asthma nurse how the breathlessness felt different. It was very strange , no tight chest, no wheeze .

I hope you get relief soon. Take care.

Thank you, did the omeprazole work?

Eat little but often and avoid carbonated drinks. Avoid large portions of carbohydrates like pasta, carbohydrates can produce a lot of co2 that have to be removed from your blood making you more breathless.

It's nice to know I'm not alone, I'm on the same medication and my belly is very bloated, I was a skinny lad growing up but the past year my belly sticks out and is hard. I hardly eat yet I feel my belly is getting bigger and harder and my breathless is slowly getting worse. I wish I could find an easy solution. I hate mirrors and because of this it makes me depressed. Any advice would be well appreciated also.

Sorry to hear that your suffering as well, like you I’m almost frightened to eat anything if I’m going out as tummy will bloat and breathing becomes more difficult....if you manage to find a solution let me know 😀

Yes I will let you know, I've been trying a product called colon fit, large capsules, prebiotics and fibre and other ingredients that's supposed to reduce a bloated stomach and constipation. Been on it about 3 weeks now, to be honest iv not seen any results as yet. I got them through Amazon. The ratings had good results. I'm probably wasting my money. I'll let you know. Thanks
