Methotrexate and CoVid risk
Its been a very hard year for most of us. I have lost a son a sister a job and career, to top it all I was not seen by the Rheumatologist for obvious reasons. I was reducing and eventually stopped the Pred with predictable results so my mobility has been poor in recent months. I saw the Rheumie today

CDC advisers to consider additional coronavirus dose for immunocompromised patients. Meeting scheduled for July 22
A federal advisory panel is expected next week to consider whether health-care workers should be allowed to give additional coronavirus shots to patients with fragile immune systems, even as top U.S. health officials have said an additional dose of vaccine is not widely needed. The prospect of booster

ALD and vaccinations
I have a very important question - how dangerous are vaccinations for us? When my older brother fell ill with ALD, my mother was forbidden to give me any vaccinations, so as not to start the same process, but what do you say? Can vaccinations worsen current symptoms or cause new ones, such as cerebral

But on a plus side I suppose as time goes on if they start to wain this will show up, and hopefully once the booster is given in the Autumn it will trigger them again, but I still feel that my husband and I had the virus last year in Jan and Feb we were both really unwell and the

Vaccination invite before 12 weeks Astra Zeneca
Hello all, Has anybody been invited to receive second
vaccination
AZ before the standard 12 weeks? Or are they just trying to get as many vaccinated as possible? Or could it possibly trigger a flare? Thoughts🤔

I have emailed my practice with up to date
vaccination
status and been told they aren’t seeing people who are CEV for routine inspection. It is now nearly 18 months since I’ve been seen and before that I regularly attended to ensure my mouth is as good as it can be.

Vaccines charge up natural immunity against SARS-CoV-2.
They found that
vaccination
boosts the immunity these individuals naturally develop upon infection, so much that they are likely protected even from the emerging variants. The 63 people in the study had COVID in the spring of last year.

A little advice maybe? Have RA , and shielded for most of last year,I have 2 grown up children, 42 and 46. My son lives away and I do not see him and his family often, my daughter lives close by and has 2 children. My son has had both jabs, same as me and my husband, but my daughter refuses to get vaccinated

CLL Society COVID-19 guidelines, & Explaining to Family and Friends Why the CDC Guidelines for Those Vaccinated - Do Not Apply to us
COVID-19, it’s not over! CLL Society will keep hammering away at this topic because we are continuing to hear that the general public, CLL patients, and even healthcare providers are still unaware that COVID-19 vaccines may not reliably protect the immunocompromised. The CLL community is lucky to have

European regulators OK Pfizer vaccine for children 12-15
The recommendation follows similar decisions by regulators in Canada and the US last month, as rich countries slowly approach their
vaccination
targets for adults and look to immunise as many people as possible.

Not sure what to do
Had my first AstraZeneca, in February second one due, felt fine for 2 weeks then flare up, since then fatigue has been really bad, like walking through treacle some days, also some palpitations and feeling really down, flare up is now starting to settle down, I’m on 10mgs MTX,which I stopped before

Leukemia & Lymphoma Society COVID-19 vaccine safety data is now available ; vaccine antibody data expected later in 2021
This does NOT mean that
vaccination
is futile. It does mean blood cancer patients should continue to follow good prevention guidelines, including wearing masks, social distancing, frequent hand washing, avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated indoor spaces.

FET v COVID Vaccination
Hi all, I’m due to start my next round in a couple of weeks but Im certain my age group will be called forward at the end of May to have the Covid
vaccination
. I’m just wondering what other people think or if there any success story’s whilst doing both at the same time.

Covid positive advice please
So even after 2 covid vaccinations I have been found positive on PCR for Covid. Probably brought home from my child at school (someone in class positive). This is day 3 of symptoms with cough, fever, and shortness of breath. Started out as headache and sore throat and had negative lateral flow tests. Now

Re vaccine and outcome for CLL you might find this interesting
., ibrutinib, acalabrutinib) were less likely to make antibodies after
vaccination
. Those patients with less IgA antibodies in their blood in general (meaning they struggle to make antibodies to many diseases) were also less likely to form antibodies after
vaccination

Covid kid update, partially long rant
We are near our covid kid’s isolation period. She tested positive on Thursday July first and and has been in quarantine since that morning. Since bringing her home, we’ve kept her isolated, put up an exhaust fan in her room (pulls room air outside) , ran the air purifier with hepa filters 24/7, put
